Product Name Infrared Gas Brooder

Product Overview

The Infrared Gas Brooder is a radiant heating unit designed to provide concentrated floor-level warmth for chicks and young poultry during the brooding period. Radiant energy warms the birds, litter and floor surface directly, creating an effective comfort zone beneath the brooder.

The suspended structure typically combines a gas burner, high-temperature radiant emitter, reflector canopy, gas-control components and suspension hardware. The reflector directs radiant energy downward and outward to improve heat distribution across the brooding area.

The system is suitable for commercial broiler houses, breeder rearing facilities, pullet houses, turkey houses and other livestock equipment projects requiring localized heating. Fuel type, heating capacity, ignition method, suspension arrangement and control configuration can be selected according to project requirements.

Key Features
  • Infrared Radiant Heating: Directs thermal energy toward birds, litter and floor surfaces for effective brooding-zone heating.
  • Localized Heat Supply: Creates defined warm areas where chicks can select a comfortable position according to their thermal requirements.
  • Wide Reflector Canopy: Helps distribute radiant energy over the required brooding area.
  • High-Temperature Emitter: Converts combustion energy into effective infrared radiation.
  • Multiple Gas Options: LPG, propane or natural gas configurations are available according to project requirements.
  • Temperature Control: Compatible with thermostatic or zone-control systems according to model.
  • Electronic Ignition Option: Direct spark ignition can be supplied on compatible configurations.
  • Durable Construction: Metal and high-temperature components are designed for demanding poultry-house environments.
  • Suspended Installation: Keeps poultry-house floor space clear and allows brooder height adjustment.
  • Easy Maintenance: Accessible burner and reflector construction simplifies routine inspection and cleaning.
  • Commercial Farm Application: Suitable for intensive poultry production and steel structure poultry buildings.
  • Project Configuration: Brooder quantity and heating capacity can be selected according to house dimensions and climate conditions.
Structural Components
  • Radiant reflector canopy
  • Infrared radiant emitter
  • Gas burner assembly
  • Gas control valve
  • Gas injector / orifice
  • Burner venturi
  • Ignition electrode according to model
  • Flame-sensing component according to model

  • Height adjustment hardware
  • Optional electronic ignition controller
  • Optional zone-control equipment
Working Principle

Fuel gas enters the burner through the gas-control system and mixes with combustion air. After ignition, combustion heats the radiant emitter to a high operating temperature.

The heated emitter produces infrared radiation. The reflector canopy directs this energy downward toward the birds, litter and floor instead of relying exclusively on warming the surrounding air.

This creates a localized warm zone beneath the brooder. Birds can move closer to or farther away from the heat source according to their thermal requirements.

Depending on the selected control system, individual brooders or heating zones can be regulated by thermostats or integrated poultry-house climate controllers.

Installation & Maintenance

Infrared gas brooders should be installed according to the selected equipment specification and applicable local gas, ventilation and fire-safety requirements. Suspension points must be secured to suitable structural members of the poultry building.

  • Confirm gas type and required supply pressure before installation.
  • Install the brooder at the specified height for the selected heating capacity.
  • Maintain the required clearance from combustible materials.
  • Secure suspension chains to suitable roof or steel structure members.
  • Use approved gas hoses, regulators, valves and connection fittings.
  • Leak-test gas connections before commissioning.
  • Verify ignition and flame condition before chick placement.
  • Check heat distribution across the brooding area.
  • Keep burner air openings and radiant surfaces free from dust and litter.
  • Inspect burner orifices and ignition components during scheduled maintenance.
  • Clean brooders between poultry production cycles.
  • Protect ignition and control components during poultry-house washdown.
  • Inspect suspension hardware and gas hoses regularly.
Product FAQ

Q1: What is an infrared gas brooder used for?

It provides concentrated radiant heat for chicks and young poultry during brooding and early-stage rearing.

Q2: How is infrared heating different from conventional space heating?

Infrared brooders transfer radiant energy toward birds, litter and floor surfaces instead of relying only on heating the surrounding air.

Q3: Can the brooder use LPG or natural gas?

Yes. Compatible configurations can be supplied for LPG, propane or natural gas. Burner and pressure-control components must match the selected fuel.

Q4: Can several brooders be controlled together?

Yes. Compatible systems can use thermostatic zone controls or poultry-house climate controllers to regulate multiple brooders.

Q5: Is electronic ignition available?

Yes. Electronic ignition is available on selected infrared gas brooder configurations.

Q6: How is the required number of brooders determined?

Quantity depends on heating capacity, poultry-house floor area, insulation, ventilation rate, outdoor climate and required brooding temperature.

Q7: Can infrared brooders be used for turkeys and pullets?

Yes. Suitable configurations can be used for broilers, turkeys, pullets, breeders and other floor-reared poultry.

Q8: Can SHEWUYOU configure a complete poultry heating system?

Yes. Brooder capacity, quantity, gas distribution, suspension layout and climate-control equipment can be configured according to project requirements.
