Pig House Sliding Curtain Air Inlet System

Product Showcase Content
Product Name PIG HOUSE SLIDING CURTAIN AIR INLET SYSTEM
Product Image Pig House Sliding Curtain Air Inlet System
Product Overview The Pig House Sliding Curtain Air Inlet System is a secondary ventilation inlet designed for pig-house corridors and centralized climate-control systems, particularly for summer and transition-season ventilation.

A rigid curtain panel moves vertically inside guide rails to continuously adjust the effective inlet opening. Manual and automatic integrated drive options allow farm operators or environmental controllers to regulate incoming airflow according to ventilation demand, outdoor temperature and operating mode.
Product Gallery Rigid sliding curtain panel, vertical guide rails, suspension cables, pulley system, manual and automatic drive mechanism, secondary pig-house air inlet and corridor ventilation installation.
Key Features
  • Secondary Air Inlet Design: Developed for pig-house corridors and multi-stage ventilation systems.
  • Vertical Sliding Adjustment: The curtain panel moves up and down to continuously change the effective inlet opening.
  • Manual & Automatic Control: Integrated drive configurations support both manual operation and automatic environmental control.
  • Rigid Curtain Panel: Typical systems use corrosion-resistant PVC panels with a smooth surface suitable for livestock-house environments.
  • Stable Guide Structure: Vertical guide rails help keep the panel aligned during repeated opening and closing.
  • Cable & Pulley Drive: Stainless steel wire rope and low-friction pulleys can be configured for reliable lifting transmission.
  • Precise Airflow Regulation: Adjustable opening area allows airflow to be matched to seasonal ventilation requirements.
  • Cooling Pad Integration: Can be incorporated into summer ventilation systems using evaporative cooling pads where required.
  • Customized Dimensions: Panel width, opening height, guide structure and drive configuration can be designed according to the building opening.
  • Commercial Farm Application: Suitable for large-scale pig farms using staged, negative-pressure or tunnel ventilation strategies.
Working Principle The sliding curtain panel is installed inside a designated secondary air-inlet opening. A lifting mechanism raises or lowers the rigid panel along vertical guide rails, changing the open area above the panel.

When exhaust fans create negative pressure inside the pig house, outdoor or corridor air is drawn through the exposed opening. Increasing the opening allows greater airflow, while reducing the opening limits intake volume and helps regulate inlet air velocity.

In automatic systems, the curtain drive can operate together with temperature sensors, ventilation stages and environmental controllers to adjust the inlet according to changing climate conditions.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Measure the air-inlet opening accurately before manufacturing the curtain panel and guide structure.
  • Install both vertical guide rails parallel and plumb to ensure smooth panel movement.
  • Position lifting cables symmetrically so the curtain panel remains level during operation.
  • Adjust pulleys, cables and drive components to prevent binding or uneven lifting.
  • Set upper and lower travel limits before commissioning an automatic drive system.
  • Verify that the fully open position provides the required design inlet area.
  • Inspect lifting cables, pulleys, fasteners and guide rails regularly for wear or looseness.
  • Keep guide surfaces clean and free from accumulated dust and debris.
  • Inspect the PVC curtain panel for cracks, deformation or damaged edges.
  • For automatic systems, periodically test controller signals, limit switches and emergency manual operation.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the sliding curtain system used for?
A: It is a secondary pig-house air inlet used to regulate summer and transition-season ventilation.

Q: How is the inlet opening adjusted?
A: The rigid curtain panel moves vertically up or down to increase or decrease the effective inlet opening.

Q: Can it be operated manually?
A: Yes. Manual lifting or winch configurations can be supplied.

Q: Can the sliding curtain operate automatically?
A: Yes. Automatic electric-drive versions can be connected to compatible livestock-house environmental control systems.

Q: What material is normally used for the sliding panel?
A: Professional livestock sliding-curtain systems commonly use rigid PVC panels because they provide corrosion resistance, a smooth surface and good dimensional stability.

Q: Can the dimensions be customized?
A: Yes. Panel dimensions, guide height, cable arrangement and drive configuration can be manufactured according to the building opening.

Q: Can it be installed with cooling pads?
A: Yes. Sliding curtain air inlets can be integrated with evaporative cooling-pad systems when required by the summer ventilation design.

Q: What is the difference between a sliding curtain and a flexible curtain?
A: A sliding curtain normally uses a rigid panel moving vertically in guide rails, while a conventional flexible curtain uses coated fabric that rolls, folds or lifts to change the opening.
