Self-Balancing Pig House Air Inlet

Product Showcase Content
Product Name SELF-BALANCING NEGATIVE PRESSURE AIR INLET
Product Image Self-Balancing Negative Pressure Air Inlet for Pig Houses
Product Overview The Self-Balancing Negative Pressure Air Inlet is designed as a secondary fresh-air inlet for pig-house corridors and summer ventilation systems. The multi-flap structure responds automatically to the pressure difference created by exhaust fans, allowing fresh air to enter without requiring a separate actuator for normal pressure-responsive operation.

The inlet can be installed in groups along livestock-house walls or corridor partitions. Its quick-opening flap design supports high summer ventilation rates and works together with exhaust fans, cooling systems and environmental controllers in modern pig farm climate-control projects.

  • Grouped wall or corridor installation
  • Sensitive and flexible flap movement
  • Suitable for high summer ventilation demand
  • Designed for integration with livestock exhaust systems
Key Features
  • Self-Balancing Operation: The inlet flaps respond to pressure differences generated by the ventilation system for automatic opening and closing movement.
  • Negative Pressure Activated: Exhaust fans create the pressure differential required to draw fresh air through the inlet.
  • Secondary Summer Air Intake: Particularly suitable for pig-house corridor systems that require additional inlet capacity during warm weather.
  • Multi-Flap Design: Several horizontal inlet panels provide a large effective opening area within a compact wall installation.
  • Fast Response: Flexible flap movement allows the inlet opening to respond quickly as ventilation demand changes.
  • No Dedicated Actuator Required: Normal opening can be driven directly by negative pressure instead of a separate electric inlet actuator.
  • Modular Installation: Multiple inlet sections can be arranged according to building layout and required ventilation capacity.
  • Climate System Integration: Works with exhaust fans, cooling pads and environmental control equipment in mechanically ventilated livestock houses.
Working Principle When exhaust fans remove air from the pig house, the indoor pressure becomes lower than the pressure on the supply-air side. This pressure difference acts on the inlet flaps and causes them to open automatically, allowing fresh air to enter the building.

As fan operation and pressure differential change, the flap opening adjusts accordingly. When the pressure difference falls, the self-balancing panels move toward the closed position. This allows the inlet to respond directly to the operating condition of the ventilation system and helps provide controlled air intake during summer ventilation.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Determine inlet quantity and opening area according to exhaust fan capacity and the livestock-house ventilation design.
  • Install the inlet frame level and square so that all flap panels can move freely.
  • Seal gaps between the inlet frame and building structure to reduce uncontrolled air leakage.
  • Keep sufficient clearance around each flap to prevent interference during opening and closing.
  • Check that all flap panels respond smoothly when exhaust fans create negative pressure.
  • Clean accumulated dust, cobwebs and debris from the inlet surfaces periodically.
  • Inspect hinges, pivots, balance components and fasteners regularly for wear or looseness.
  • Verify livestock-house static pressure after installation and adjust the overall ventilation system where necessary.
  • Replace damaged or deformed panels promptly to maintain uniform air intake performance.
Product FAQ

Q: What is a self-balancing air inlet?
A: It is a pressure-responsive ventilation inlet whose flap panels open automatically when the exhaust system creates sufficient negative pressure.

Q: Does the inlet require an electric motor to open?
A: Normal opening is driven by the pressure difference created by the exhaust ventilation system, so a separate actuator is not required for the basic self-balancing function.

Q: Where is this model mainly installed?
A: The current product is designed primarily as a secondary air inlet for pig-house corridors.

Q: When is the inlet normally used?
A: It is particularly suitable for summer and other periods when the pig house requires increased fresh-air intake.

Q: Can several inlets be installed together?
A: Yes. Multiple inlet modules can be arranged along the ventilation wall according to the required total inlet area.

Q: Can it work with negative pressure exhaust fans?
A: Yes. The inlet is specifically designed to respond to the negative pressure generated by mechanical exhaust fans.

Q: How is the required inlet quantity calculated?
A: Selection should consider total exhaust airflow, target static pressure, inlet dimensions, opening characteristics and the overall livestock-house ventilation layout.

Q: Can the inlet be used with cooling pads?
A: Yes. It can be incorporated into a broader summer ventilation and cooling system when the complete airflow path is designed accordingly.
