Deep-Trough Evaporative Cooling Pad System

Product Showcase Content
Product Name DEEP-TROUGH EVAPORATIVE COOLING PAD SYSTEM
Product Image Deep-Trough Evaporative Cooling Pad System
Product Overview The Deep-Trough Evaporative Cooling Pad System is designed for summer cooling and ventilation in pig houses, poultry houses and other livestock buildings. The integrated external water trough eliminates the need to construct a separate water reservoir on site, simplifying farm construction and installation.

The system combines 150 mm virgin-pulp cooling pads, an anodized aluminum side frame, a closed PVC water trough, PVC circulation pipes and a 40-mesh filtration system. When paired with negative-pressure exhaust fans, hot outside air is drawn through the continuously wetted pad surface for efficient evaporative cooling.

Key Features
  • Integrated Deep Water Trough: External trough structure provides the required circulation-water capacity without a separate site-built reservoir.
  • Closed Water Storage: Enclosed PVC trough helps reduce external contamination of the recirculating water.
  • Built-In Water Circulation: Integrated filtration and circulation components provide stable water supply to the cooling pad wall.
  • 150 mm Cooling Pad: Virgin-pulp paper pads provide a large wetted surface for livestock-house evaporative cooling.
  • Individual Curing Treatment: Cooling-pad sheets receive curing treatment for improved structural stability during repeated wet and dry cycles.
  • 40-Mesh Filtration: ABS filter housing with 304 stainless steel screen helps protect circulation components from larger suspended particles.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Frame: Anodized aluminum alloy side frames are suitable for humid cooling-system environments.
  • Optional Rodent Protection: Double-sided 304 stainless steel rodent mesh can be supplied for livestock farm applications.
Working Principle Water stored in the integrated trough passes through the filtration system and is circulated to the upper distribution section of the cooling pad. The water flows downward through the corrugated pad material and returns to the trough for recirculation.

At the same time, livestock-house exhaust fans create negative pressure and draw hot outdoor air through the wet cooling pads. Part of the circulating water evaporates and absorbs heat from the incoming air, allowing cooler fresh air to enter the livestock building before warm indoor air is exhausted.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Install the cooling pad wall on the designated air-inlet side according to the livestock-house ventilation design.
  • Keep the aluminum frame level and seal the perimeter carefully to prevent uncontrolled air bypass.
  • Connect the PVC supply and return lines securely and verify that the circulation system is leak-free.
  • Check the water level in the integrated trough before starting the circulation system.
  • Confirm uniform wetting across the complete cooling-pad surface during operation.
  • Clean the 40-mesh filter regularly according to local water quality and operating conditions.
  • Remove sediment and accumulated contamination from the closed water trough periodically.
  • Inspect cooling paper for mineral deposits, algae, deformation or physical damage.
  • Check PVC pipes, pumps, joints and water distribution components before the summer cooling season.
  • Allow pads to dry periodically when operating procedures permit, and replace severely damaged or blocked pad modules.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the main advantage of the deep-trough design?
A: The integrated water trough provides water storage and circulation capacity within the cooling system, so a separate site-built water reservoir is normally unnecessary.

Q: What thickness is the cooling pad?
A: The specified cooling-pad thickness is 150 mm.

Q: What is the width of each cooling-pad module?
A: Each listed pad module is 600 mm wide.

Q: What material is used for the cooling pad?
A: The pad is made from virgin pulp paper with individual curing treatment.

Q: Does the system include water filtration?
A: Yes. The current configuration includes a 40-mesh filter with an ABS housing and 304 stainless steel filter screen.

Q: Is rodent protection available?
A: Yes. Optional double-sided 304 stainless steel rodent mesh can be installed to protect the cooling pad wall.

Q: Does the cooling pad work with negative pressure exhaust fans?
A: Yes. The system is designed to work with exhaust fans that draw hot outside air through the wetted pads and into the livestock house.

Q: Can the overall size be customized?
A: Yes. The total cooling-pad wall length, height and supporting configuration can be selected according to building dimensions, livestock capacity and ventilation requirements.
