Product Overview

The Duckling & Gosling Drinker is a gravity-fed poultry waterer developed for young ducks, geese and other waterfowl during brooding and early rearing. The inverted reservoir automatically supplies water to the circular drinking channel as birds consume water.

Its compact trough allows young birds to reach drinking water while limiting unnecessary body entry into the reservoir area. The simple two-piece construction requires no electricity, pressure regulator or permanent pipeline connection, making it suitable for hatcheries, brooder pens and commercial waterfowl rearing facilities.

Key Features
  • Designed for Young Waterfowl: suitable for ducklings and goslings during brooding and starter rearing.
  • Gravity-Fed Water Supply: automatically replenishes the circular trough without electricity or mechanical controls.
  • Accessible Drinking Channel: the low-profile trough provides convenient access for small bills while helping reduce unnecessary wetting.
  • Visible Water Reservoir: translucent plastic configurations allow farm staff to monitor the remaining water level quickly.
  • Simple Two-Piece Structure: the reservoir and drinking base separate easily for filling, washing and sanitation.
  • No Fixed Pipeline Required: suitable for temporary brooding areas and facilities where permanent plumbing is not practical.
  • Durable Plastic Construction: lightweight, corrosion-resistant material is suitable for humid poultry-house conditions.
  • Flexible Project Supply: reservoir capacity, base dimensions and packaging can be customized according to project requirements.
Structural Components
  • Inverted water reservoir
  • Reservoir neck or locking connection
  • Circular drinking tray
  • Gravity water outlet
  • Raised central reservoir support
  • Rounded drinking rim
  • Stable freestanding base
Working Principle

The reservoir is filled with clean drinking water, connected securely to the base and inverted. Water flows into the circular trough until the water level covers the reservoir outlet.

Atmospheric pressure and the partial vacuum inside the reservoir then stop additional flow. As ducklings or goslings drink and the trough level decreases, air enters the reservoir and releases additional water until the normal drinking level is restored.

Installation & Maintenance

Fill the reservoir with clean drinking water and secure the drinking base firmly before turning the assembled drinker upright. Position the unit on a stable and level surface so the water depth remains even around the complete drinking channel.

For newly placed ducklings and goslings, make sure the drinking rim is easily accessible. As the birds grow, the drinker can be placed on a suitable stable platform to help reduce bedding contamination and excessive water spillage.

Young waterfowl should have continuous access to clean drinking water. Starter-type troughs are appropriate during early rearing, while larger birds should be transferred to drinking equipment that provides suitable water access for their increasing body size and natural drinking behavior.

Wash the reservoir and drinking tray regularly. Remove feed, bedding, mineral deposits and organic contamination, and check the reservoir connection and water outlet to maintain reliable gravity flow.

Product FAQ

Q: Is this drinker suitable for newly hatched ducklings and goslings?

A: Yes. Gravity-fed starter waterers are commonly used during the early rearing period when the trough is positioned at an accessible height.

Q: How does the drinker refill automatically?

A: Gravity releases water from the inverted reservoir as the drinking level decreases, while the vacuum inside the reservoir prevents continuous overflow.

Q: Does the drinker require electricity or water pressure?

A: No. It operates without electricity, pumps or a pressurized water connection.

Q: Can the drinker be used throughout the complete growth cycle?

A: It is primarily intended for starter and early rearing applications. Larger ducks and geese normally require larger-capacity drinking equipment with more appropriate access as they grow.

Q: Can the reservoir be removed for cleaning?

A: Yes. The detachable reservoir and tray simplify filling, washing and routine sanitation.

Q: Are different capacities available?

A: Yes. Reservoir capacity, drinking tray size and material configuration can be customized according to project requirements.

Q: Can it be supplied for commercial waterfowl projects?

A: Yes. Product size, packing quantity and project supply can be configured for hatcheries, waterfowl farms, livestock equipment distributors and agricultural project procurement.
