| Product Overview |
The Layer Chick Drinker is an automatic nipple watering solution designed for day-old layer chicks, pullets and young poultry during the rearing period. Its sensitive triggering mechanism allows young birds to obtain small quantities of water with light contact, while stronger activation by growing birds can provide increased water delivery. The system combines stainless steel nipple components with a durable plastic housing and optional drip-catching cup. Water is supplied through a closed pipe or reservoir system, helping protect drinking water from litter, feed and environmental contamination. Suitable for floor-reared pullets, layer rearing cages and commercial poultry houses, the drinker can be incorporated into complete drinking lines with pressure regulators, filters, suspension equipment and flushing components. Nipple spacing, water pressure, pipe configuration and installation layout can be customized according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle |
Filtered and pressure-regulated water enters the poultry drinking pipe and remains available above each nipple valve. Under normal conditions, the nipple remains closed and prevents continuous water discharge. When a chick touches the lower trigger pin from the side or below, the valve opens and releases a controlled amount of water. Young chicks use relatively light movement and receive a smaller quantity, while older pullets can activate the pin more strongly and obtain increased flow. This progressive operating characteristic allows the same basic nipple concept to support birds through different rearing stages when water pressure and drinking-line height are correctly managed. Optional drip cups collect occasional droplets beneath the nipple. Drinking-line pressure and height should be adjusted as birds grow to maintain comfortable drinking posture and limit unnecessary water loss. |

| Technical Specifications |
Flow values depend on nipple design, water-column pressure and trigger-pin movement. Final birds-per-nipple ratio, pressure setting, nipple spacing and drinking-line layout should be confirmed according to pullet age, housing system and project requirements. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
Correct drinking-line height and pressure are essential during pullet rearing. The drinking line should be suspended straight and level and adjusted progressively as the chicks grow.

| Product FAQ |
Q1: Can layer chicks use nipple drinkers from the first day? Yes. Properly designed layer nipples provide soft triggering so young chicks can obtain small amounts of water with light side or vertical movement. Q2: Why is 360-degree nipple triggering useful? Multi-directional activation makes the drinking point easier for young chicks to trigger while they are learning to use the system. Q3: Does the same nipple work as the pullets grow? Suitable professional nipples can provide progressively higher water delivery as older birds activate the trigger pin more strongly. Q4: Are drip cups necessary? They are optional. Drip cups can collect occasional droplets and help maintain drier litter in floor-rearing houses. Q5: How many birds can use one nipple? Comparable professional floor-rearing systems recommend approximately 10-12 birds per nipple, but final ratios should follow the selected equipment and farm management requirements. Q6: Why must the line height change as chicks grow? Correct height encourages birds to reach upward toward the nipple, improving drinking posture and helping reduce unnecessary water loss. Q7: Can the drinking line be automatically flushed? Yes. Automatic flushing systems can be incorporated into compatible layer drinking lines. Q8: Can SHEWUYOU design a complete layer pullet drinking system? Yes. Nipple quantity, spacing, drinking pipes, regulators, filtration, flushing equipment, suspension systems and related components can be configured according to project requirements. |
