The Plastic Chick Drinker is a compact gravity-fed poultry waterer designed for day-old chicks, broiler chicks, pullets, quail and other young poultry during brooding and early rearing. Its simple reservoir-and-tray construction provides continuous access to drinking water without electricity or complicated plumbing. The translucent or semi-transparent plastic reservoir allows farm staff to monitor the remaining water level quickly. Water is released automatically into the circular drinking channel as chicks consume it, maintaining a relatively constant level through the gravity and vacuum principle. A low-profile drinking tray gives young birds convenient access while helping reduce the risk of birds entering the water reservoir. | Working Principle / Structural Principle |
The reservoir is filled with clean drinking water and connected securely to the drinking tray. After the assembled drinker is positioned upright, water flows from the reservoir into the circular channel. Once the water reaches the designed outlet level, atmospheric pressure and the sealed reservoir prevent continuous uncontrolled discharge. As chicks drink and the tray level falls below the outlet, a small quantity of air enters the reservoir and additional water flows into the tray. This repeating gravity-feed cycle maintains a usable water level without a mechanical valve, pump or electrical connection. The system is therefore suitable for brooding areas requiring simple and dependable drinking equipment. |
