Product Overview

The RFID Livestock Tagging Tool Kit is a configurable animal identification package designed for cattle farms, pig farms, breeding operations, feedlots and livestock traceability projects. A typical kit combines compatible electronic ear tags, an ergonomic ear tag applicator, replacement application components and optional RFID reading equipment.

The system supports efficient installation and verification of electronic livestock identification tags. After an RFID ear tag is applied, its unique electronic identification number can be captured using a compatible reader and linked with animal production, breeding, health, weighing or movement records.

Kit contents can be configured according to animal species, herd size, electronic identification standard, farm workflow and project requirements.

Structural Components

A typical RFID livestock tagging tool kit may include:

  • RFID electronic livestock ear tags
  • Male locking tag components
  • Two-piece livestock ear tag applicator
  • Replaceable applicator pin
  • Tag holding jaw / adaptor
  • Optional visual identification tags
  • Optional handheld or stick RFID reader
  • Optional reader charging accessories
  • Optional data communication accessories
  • Optional protective carrying case
  • Optional livestock management software interface
Working Principle / Structural Principle

The male and female components of the livestock ear tag are first loaded into the compatible applicator. When the handles are squeezed, the applicator drives the male stud through the selected area of the animal's ear and securely locks it into the female electronic tag component.

The RFID ear tag contains a passive electronic transponder carrying a unique identification number. When a compatible RFID reader is brought within the appropriate reading range, the reader energizes the passive transponder and receives the encoded animal identification number.

The captured ID can then be stored or transferred to compatible herd-management, weighing, breeding or livestock traceability systems, creating a connection between the physical animal and its digital record.

Installation & Maintenance

Confirm Compatibility: Verify that the selected RFID tag, applicator pin and reader are compatible before beginning the tagging operation.

Prepare the Applicator: Position the male tag component on the applicator pin and secure the female component in the receiving jaw.

Select the Tagging Position: Choose the recommended area of the animal's ear while avoiding major cartilage ribs, large blood vessels and damaged tissue.

Apply the Tag: Close the applicator firmly in one smooth movement until the male and female tag components lock securely.

Verify the Electronic ID: Scan the newly installed tag with a compatible RFID reader and confirm that the identification number matches the intended animal record.

Register the Animal: Transfer or enter the electronic identification number into the applicable herd-management, weighing or traceability database.

Clean the Applicator: Remove dirt and biological contamination after use and disinfect tag-contact components according to farm biosecurity procedures.

Inspect Wear Components: Check the applicator pin, spring, jaw and pivot mechanism regularly and replace worn components when required.

Project Cases

RFID livestock tagging tool kits are suitable for farms upgrading from conventional visual identification to electronic animal identification and digital traceability.

Commercial cattle farms, feedlots and swine operations can standardize tag applicators, electronic tags and RFID readers across animal processing teams to improve identification consistency and data collection efficiency.

For large livestock projects, tagging kits can be supplied together with electronic scales, livestock handling equipment, automatic sorting systems and farm-management software interfaces.
