Product Overview

The Replacement Ear Tag Applicator Pins are service components designed to maintain reliable performance of livestock ear tag applicators used for cattle identification. Replacing a worn, bent or damaged pin helps restore correct alignment between the applicator and compatible ear tag components.

Different livestock identification systems use different pin profiles, including blunt pins, smooth pins, threaded pins and specialty pins for visual or electronic identification tags. Correct pin selection is important because the male tag stud must seat correctly on the applicator pin before installation.

Replacement pins are suitable for dairy farms, beef operations, feedlots, breeding centers, livestock markets and distributors that maintain cattle tagging equipment for routine herd identification and RFID / EID programs.

Key Features
  • Restores Applicator Performance: Replacing worn or damaged pins helps maintain correct tag alignment and consistent installation.
  • Multiple Pin Configurations: Blunt, smooth, threaded and specialty pin designs are available according to applicator and tag type.
  • Visual and Electronic Tag Options: Compatible configurations are available for conventional cattle tags and selected RFID / EID ear tags.
  • Replaceable Design: Screw-in or removable construction allows routine field servicing without replacing the complete applicator.
  • Durable Construction: Metal, reinforced polymer or combined materials can be supplied according to applicator requirements.
  • Compact Spare Part: Easy to store in livestock identification kits, farm workshops or applicator handles where supported.
  • Cost-Effective Maintenance: Extends the useful service life of compatible cattle ear tag applicators.
  • Distributor Supply: Individual, pair and bulk packaging options are available according to project requirements.
Structural Components
  • Applicator pin shaft
  • Blunt or smooth working tip according to model
  • Threaded mounting section
  • Shoulder or locating collar
  • Optional locking nut
  • Optional polymer guide section
  • Optional applicator-specific adapter
Working Principle

The replacement pin mounts in the applicator jaw and supports the male component of the ear tag during installation. Its profile keeps the tag stud correctly positioned as the applicator handles close.

During tagging, the applicator directs the male stud through the animal's ear and into the locking section of the female tag. Proper pin geometry helps ensure that the stud remains aligned throughout the application cycle.

The pin must match both the applicator and the tag design. Using an incompatible pin can cause poor seating, incorrect alignment or unsuccessful tag installation.

Product FAQ

Q1: Why should an ear tag applicator pin be replaced?

A bent, worn or damaged pin can affect tag alignment and application reliability. Replacement helps restore correct applicator performance.

Q2: Are all replacement pins universal?

No. Applicator and tag systems can use different pin shapes, dimensions and mounting methods, so compatibility should always be confirmed before ordering.

Q3: Can the same pin be used for visual and electronic ear tags?

Some applicator systems use one pin for several tag types, while others require a specific pin or insert for electronic tags. The selected applicator specifications should be checked.

Q4: How can I tell when a pin needs replacement?

Replace the pin if it is visibly bent, blunt, cracked, damaged or no longer holds the tag stud correctly.

Q5: Can replacement pins be kept as field spares?

Yes. Spare pins are useful during high-volume cattle tagging because a damaged pin can be replaced without taking the entire applicator out of service.

Q6: Are replacement pins available for RFID / EID applicators?

Yes. Compatible replacement pins are available for many electronic livestock identification applicators.

Q7: Can SHEWUYOU supply pins together with applicators and ear tags?

Yes. Replacement pins, applicators, visual ear tags, RFID / EID tags and related cattle identification accessories can be supplied according to project requirements.
