The automatic calf waterer is connected directly to the livestock water supply. A mechanical float inside the protected valve chamber controls the inlet valve according to the trough water level. When calves consume water, the float moves downward and opens the valve. Fresh water enters the drinking trough until the preset operating level is restored. The rising float then closes the valve automatically. The two-sided layout provides drinking access from opposite sides of the unit and is especially useful for fence-line installations between two calf pens. This arrangement can reduce the number of individual waterers and pipeline branches required in the livestock building.
