| Working Principle |
Male and female breeder chickens are maintained together inside large colony compartments. The open internal arrangement provides sufficient usable space for flock movement and natural mating while retaining the management advantages of a vertically stacked cage system. Feed is distributed along the cage row through trough or automated feeding equipment. Where required, male-specific feeding positions can be arranged separately from the primary hen feeding system. Nipple drinking lines provide water inside each tier and can be positioned according to flock age. After laying, hatching eggs move toward the collection area and are transferred by egg belts to the end of the cage row or to a centralized egg collection system. Manure falls below the birds onto dedicated manure belts for periodic automatic removal. Lighting, ventilation and climate-control equipment can be coordinated with the cage system to maintain a controlled breeder-house environment. Final operating programs should be established according to breeder strain recommendations and farm management standards. |
