Product Overview

The Broiler Bell Drinker is an automatic open-water drinking unit designed for commercial broiler production from chick placement through finishing. Its circular drinking channel provides multiple birds with convenient simultaneous access to fresh water while an internal low-pressure valve mechanism automatically maintains the required water level.

The bell-shaped body is normally suspended above the litter and connected to a regulated farm water supply through a flexible hose. A ballast system stabilizes the drinker and reduces unwanted movement around the valve mechanism, while adjustable water-level control allows the drinking depth to be matched to bird age and management requirements.

The system is suitable for environmentally controlled broiler houses, conventional poultry sheds, breeder facilities and steel structure poultry buildings. Drinker quantity, spacing, suspension height, water-supply arrangement and pressure regulation can be configured according to flock capacity and poultry-house dimensions.

Key Features
  • Automatic Water Level: Mechanical valve operation automatically replenishes water as birds drink.
  • Continuous Open-Water Access: Circular drinking channel allows multiple broilers to drink simultaneously.
  • Low-Pressure Operation: Designed for regulated poultry water-supply systems or suitable gravity-fed arrangements.
  • Adjustable Drinking Depth: Water level can be set according to bird age, house conditions and management preference.
  • Stable Ballast System: Ballast helps reduce excessive movement and protects the valve mechanism from repeated swinging.
  • Clean Bell Surface: Professional designs guide a narrow water stream along the bell surface, helping keep the body cleaner.
  • Reduced Water Spillage: Correct valve adjustment and drinking-channel geometry help prevent unnecessary overflow.
  • Durable Plastic Construction: High-impact poultry-grade plastic provides corrosion resistance and easy sanitation.
  • Suspended Installation: Hanging height can be adjusted as broilers grow.
  • Easy Cleaning: Bell and tray components are accessible for routine washing between production cycles.
  • Simple Farm Integration: Compatible with centralized water tanks, pressure regulators and poultry-house pipe networks.
  • Project Customization: Drinker spacing and water-line layout are available according to project requirements.

Working Principle

Water enters the drinker from a low-pressure poultry water line through a flexible hose and automatic valve assembly. The weight and position of the suspended bell are coordinated with the valve mechanism to maintain the selected water level in the circular tray.

As broilers consume water, the water level falls and the control mechanism opens the inlet valve. Fresh water then flows into the tray until the preset level is restored, after which the valve closes automatically.

A ballast bottle or ballast tank increases drinker stability independently of the bell body, helping reduce movement and wear on the valve mechanism. The suspended installation also allows drinking height to be adjusted as the flock grows.

Correct water pressure and water-level adjustment are important for keeping the drinking channel adequately supplied while maintaining dry litter conditions.

Installation & Maintenance

Bell drinkers should be distributed evenly throughout the poultry house and suspended from suitable roof members or designated steel structure components. Water pressure and hanging height should be adjusted before flock placement.

  • Determine drinker quantity and spacing according to flock size and house layout.
  • Install the main low-pressure water-supply line above the drinker locations.
  • Connect each drinker using suitable flexible hose and fittings.
  • Fill or adjust the ballast according to the selected configuration.
  • Set the drinking channel at a suitable height for day-old chicks.
  • Raise the drinkers progressively as broilers grow.
  • Adjust the water level to provide adequate access without excessive spillage.
  • Inspect valve operation and hose connections regularly.
  • Wash drinking trays frequently to remove litter, feed and organic contamination.
  • Clean the valve mechanism and filter components between production cycles.
  • Inspect suspension ropes and height adjusters for wear.
  • Flush the poultry-house supply line according to the farm water-management program.
Product FAQ

Q1: How does a broiler bell drinker refill automatically?

The internal low-pressure valve responds to the water level and drinker position, automatically admitting fresh water as birds consume water.

Q2: Can the drinker be used from day one?

Yes. Suitable bell-drinker configurations can be used from chick placement when the drinking height and water level are correctly adjusted.

Q3: Why is the ballast important?

The ballast improves stability and helps minimize unnecessary movement of the bell and valve mechanism.

Q4: Does the drinker require high water pressure?

No. Bell drinkers normally operate with a regulated low-pressure water supply or a suitable gravity-fed system.

Q5: Can the water level be adjusted?

Yes. Water depth can be adjusted according to chick age, broiler size and management requirements.

Q6: How many broilers can one bell drinker serve?

Professional broiler bell drinkers may serve approximately 100-150 birds per unit under suitable conditions, but final capacity should be adjusted for live weight, climate and applicable farm standards.

Q7: Can the drinker be connected to medication equipment?

Yes. Compatible water medication and dosing equipment can be installed upstream in the poultry water-supply system.

Q8: Can SHEWUYOU design a complete bell-drinker layout?

Yes. Drinker quantity, spacing, water-line layout, header tanks, regulators and installation accessories can be configured according to poultry-house dimensions and flock capacity.
