| Product Overview | The Safety Veterinary Blood Collection Needle is designed for venous blood sampling with vacuum blood collection tubes. Its integrated safety shield helps cover the used needle immediately after blood collection, reducing the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries during handling and disposal. The multi-sample design allows successive vacuum tubes to be filled through one venipuncture when the sampling procedure and animal condition permit. Optional pre-attached tube holders can simplify preparation and improve efficiency during routine livestock diagnostic work. This product is suitable for veterinary clinics, livestock farms, breeding centers, animal health laboratories and commercial farm diagnostic programs involving cattle, pigs, goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep, goats and other suitable animals. |

| Working Principle | The venipuncture needle is inserted into the selected vein according to an approved veterinary blood sampling procedure. A compatible evacuated blood collection tube is then pushed into the holder so that the tube-end needle penetrates the tube stopper. Negative pressure inside the vacuum tube draws blood through the needle and into the collection tube. When one tube is filled, it can be removed and another compatible tube inserted while the venipuncture needle remains positioned, allowing multiple specimens to be collected when appropriate. After sampling is completed and the needle is withdrawn from the animal, the safety shield is activated to cover and lock over the used needle. The entire single-use assembly should then be discarded immediately in an approved sharps container. |

| Use & Handling | Select the appropriate needle gauge, length and vacuum tube according to the animal species, vessel size, required laboratory test and veterinary sampling protocol. Inspect the sterile package before use. Do not use the product if the package is damaged or the protective cap has been compromised. Perform venipuncture using appropriate animal restraint and aseptic technique. Insert compatible vacuum tubes into the holder in the required sampling sequence and allow each tube to fill according to the laboratory procedure. After the final sample has been collected, withdraw the needle safely and activate the protective shield immediately. Confirm that the shield is locked over the needle before disposal. The product is intended for single use. Do not attempt to clean, resterilize or reuse the needle. | Product FAQ | What is the safety shield used for? The shield is activated after blood collection to cover the used needle and help reduce accidental needle-stick injuries during handling and disposal. Can multiple blood tubes be collected with one needle? Yes. The multi-sample design allows compatible evacuated tubes to be changed while the venipuncture needle remains in position when the sampling procedure permits. Is a needle holder available? Yes. A pre-attached holder configuration can be supplied for easier preparation and vacuum tube handling. Which gauge should be used for livestock? Gauge selection depends on animal species, vessel size, sampling location and veterinary protocol. The appropriate size should be selected by trained veterinary personnel. Can the needle be reused? No. Safety multi-sample blood collection needles of this configuration are sterile single-use devices and should be discarded immediately after use. |
