Sheep Squeeze Restraining Stand

Product Name Sheep Squeeze Restraining Stand
Product Image sheep squeeze restraining stand
Product Overview The Sheep Squeeze Restraining Stand is designed for controlled restraint of goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep during routine flock management, health inspection and livestock treatment procedures. Adjustable side restraint components hold the animal in a stable position while allowing the operator convenient access for dosing, tagging, hoof trimming, examination and other handling operations.

The equipment can be installed as a stand-alone handling unit or incorporated into an existing sheep race and pen system. Its practical mechanical configuration makes it suitable for commercial sheep farms, breeding operations, veterinary facilities, livestock contractors and complete agricultural handling projects.
Key Features
  • Adjustable squeeze restraint helps accommodate sheep of different breeds and body sizes.
  • Provides controlled animal positioning for dosing, tagging, hoof care and veterinary inspection.
  • Race-compatible structure allows integration with sheep handling lanes, gates and sorting systems.
  • Head restraint options can improve access during identification and treatment procedures.
  • Strong steel frame designed for repeated operation in commercial livestock environments.
  • Open working areas provide convenient access to the head, feet, flanks and rear section.
  • Simple mechanical operation reduces dependence on complicated power systems.
  • Configuration, dimensions and accessories can be customized for specific farm projects.
Structural Components
  • Main Steel Frame: Provides structural strength and stability during animal restraint.
  • Adjustable Squeeze Panels: Move inward to secure the sheep while accommodating different body widths.
  • Head Restraint Section: Helps control forward movement and facilitates tagging or inspection.
  • Entry and Exit Gates: Support efficient animal flow through a handling race.
  • Non-Slip Floor Area: Provides secure footing during loading and restraint.
  • Mechanical Locking System: Holds the restraint position during treatment and releases the animal after completion.
  • Race Connection Points: Allow the unit to be incorporated into existing sheep handling installations.
Working Principle The sheep enters the stand through the handling race and moves into the restraint area. The adjustable side panels are then positioned around the animal to limit sideways and backward movement. A head restraint or front gate can be used where required to improve control during treatment.

Once secured, the operator can perform dosing, tagging, hoof inspection, health checks or other livestock management procedures. After the work is completed, the locking mechanism is released and the sheep is directed through the exit gate. Selected configurations may also include turnover or tilting functions for improved access to the feet and underside.

Frame dimensions, steel specifications and surface protection can be designed according to local climate and farm conditions. The stand can also be coordinated with livestock pens, steel structure buildings and complete sheep handling systems.
Installation & Maintenance Install the restraining stand on a stable and level working surface. When incorporated into a sheep race, the entrance and exit should align with the natural direction of animal movement, and all adjoining gates or panels should be firmly connected.

Before operation, verify that locking points, squeeze mechanisms and gates move smoothly. Regular maintenance should include removing manure and debris, checking hinges and fasteners, inspecting galvanized surfaces and lubricating moving components where required. Worn or damaged restraint parts should be replaced before continued use.
Project Cases Sheep squeeze restraining stands can be installed within fixed sheep yards, mobile handling systems, veterinary treatment areas and commercial flock management facilities. Typical project layouts combine the stand with forcing pens, handling races, drafting gates, weighing equipment and holding pens to create an efficient livestock workflow.
