| Product Overview | PVC Gravity Manure Drain Pipe forms part of an underfloor manure discharge system in commercial pig houses. Installed beneath slurry channels or alongside collection pits, the solid-wall pipe carries liquid manure toward a receiving pit when the drain valve or pull plug is opened. Pipe diameter, gradient and branch layout are designed around the pig farm construction plan and the expected slurry flow. |
| Key Features |
|
| Structural Components | A typical gravity drainage network uses solid-wall PVC pipe lengths with compatible sockets or couplings, branch tees, bends, channel inlet connections and inspection points. Pull-plug drain valves, receiving pits and wall penetrations are coordinated separately with the complete manure removal design. The specified joints may be solvent-welded or gasketed where suitable for the chosen pipe system. |
| Working Principle | Manure accumulates in an underfloor channel while its outlet is closed. Opening the drain allows flow into the branch connection and along the main pipe toward a lower receiving pit. Effective discharge depends on suitable pipe sizing, channel geometry, elevation difference and slurry consistency. This is a gravity drain component and should not be specified as a pressure pipe without a separate pressure rating. |
| Technical Specifications |
|
| Applications | Applicable to underfloor manure collection in breeding, nursery and finishing pig houses where the slurry properties and layout support gravity discharge. The pipe network can connect multiple drain points to a receiving pit for subsequent pumping, storage or manure treatment. It can also be coordinated with concrete channels and the foundations of a steel structure livestock building. |
| Customization Options | Pipe diameter, wall class, branch spacing, fitting selection and joint method are available according to project requirements. Routing and protection details can be designed according to local climate and farm conditions, including ground movement, burial depth and access for inspection. |
| Installation & Maintenance | Set out the pipe route and invert levels before casting floors or closing trenches. Prepare a stable pipe bed, maintain the specified gradient, and install joints according to the selected pipe manufacturer's instructions. Protect the pipe at concrete penetrations and verify alignment and joint integrity before backfilling. Provide accessible inspection locations and check the system if drainage slows or solids accumulate. |
| Product FAQ |
Is the pipe suitable for a pull-plug manure system? Can the same pipe be used on a pump discharge line? What information is needed for a quotation? |
