Product Overview

The Pipe Valve Goat Drinking Bowl is a compact individual watering solution designed for goat houses, sheep barns, breeding facilities and other livestock housing projects. Instead of maintaining a permanent water level with a float, the drinker uses an animal-operated pipe valve to deliver fresh water when required.

The projecting pipe valve can be operated with relatively little pressure from the animal's nose. Water flows directly through the lower end of the valve into the bowl while the animal drinks. This operating principle is particularly useful for animals that may not comfortably operate a conventional heavy pressure tongue.

The bowl can be integrated into wall-mounted or pipe-mounted watering layouts and connected to the farm water supply. It is suitable for new livestock buildings as well as renovation and equipment replacement projects.

Key Features
  • Easy-Actuation Pipe Valve: Designed to be operated by gentle pressure from the animal's nose, making it suitable for goats, sheep and other livestock requiring an easily actuated drinking point.
  • Fresh Water on Demand: Water enters the bowl when the animal operates the valve, reducing the amount of standing water compared with conventional open trough systems.
  • Compact Individual Drinking Point: Suitable for pens, kidding areas, breeding sections, isolation pens and livestock housing where individual watering points are preferred.
  • Durable Bowl Construction: Available with livestock-grade materials selected for humid, dusty and demanding farm environments.
  • Smooth Bowl Profile: Rounded internal surfaces facilitate routine washing and help reduce areas where feed residue and dirt can accumulate.
  • Flexible Installation: Suitable for installation on livestock house walls, partitions, posts or pipe mounting systems according to project requirements.
  • Adjustable Water Supply: Valve and water-flow configurations can be selected according to farm water pressure and livestock requirements.
  • Low Routine Maintenance: A simple mechanical watering principle reduces complicated components and facilitates inspection and servicing.
Structural Components
Component Function
Drinking Bowl Provides an accessible drinking area with a smooth profile for convenient cleaning.
Pipe Valve Animal-operated valve that releases water when moved or pressed by the animal's nose.
Valve Body Controls water delivery and connects the actuating pipe with the incoming water supply.
Water Inlet Connects the drinker to the livestock house water distribution pipeline.
Mounting Backplate Provides secure attachment to walls, posts, partitions or suitable pipe mounting brackets.
Drainage Point Available according to model configuration to simplify emptying and routine bowl cleaning.
Working Principle

The pipe valve, also known as a spigot or tube-type drinking valve, is positioned above the drinking basin. When a goat pushes or moves the projecting valve with its nose, the internal valve opens and allows water to flow through the pipe into the bowl.

When the animal stops operating the valve, the mechanism returns toward its closed position and restricts the incoming water. This provides water according to animal demand without requiring an electrical control system.

Customization Options

For livestock farm projects, the drinking system can be configured according to animal type, building layout and local water-supply conditions. Available project options may include:

  • Bowl material and structural configuration
  • Water inlet connection specification
  • Pipe valve configuration
  • Water flow and pressure adaptation
  • Wall or pipe mounting arrangement
  • Protective brackets or guards
  • Water pipeline layout for complete goat-house projects
  • Cold-climate water supply and frost-protection solutions according to local climate conditions
Installation & Maintenance

Installation: Secure the drinking bowl firmly to a wall, livestock partition, structural post or suitable pipe-mounting bracket. The mounting height should allow goats to reach and operate the valve comfortably without excessive neck movement.

Water Connection: Connect the inlet to a clean livestock water line using suitable fittings. Confirm that the selected valve is compatible with the available water pressure and required flow rate before commissioning.

Placement: Install drinking points where animals have convenient access without creating congestion. Avoid locations where excessive feed contamination can enter the bowl.

Maintenance: Rinse the bowl regularly, remove feed deposits and sediment, inspect the pipe valve for smooth movement, check seals and fittings for leakage, and verify water flow as part of routine farm maintenance.

Project Integration

Pipe valve goat drinking bowls can be incorporated into complete goat and sheep housing projects together with penning systems, feeding equipment, water distribution pipelines, ventilation equipment and steel structure livestock buildings. Drinking-point quantity, installation position and pipeline arrangement can be planned according to animal numbers and farm layout.

Product FAQ

Q: How does a pipe valve goat drinking bowl work?
A: The goat operates the projecting pipe valve with its nose. This opens the mechanical valve and allows fresh water to flow directly into the drinking bowl.

Q: What is the difference between a pipe valve bowl and a float drinking bowl?
A: A float bowl maintains a predetermined water level automatically, while a pipe valve bowl supplies water when the animal physically operates the valve.

Q: Can it be installed on livestock pen partitions?
A: Yes. Depending on the mounting structure and selected accessories, the bowl can be installed on walls, suitable partitions or pipe mounting systems.

Q: Can the water connection be customized?
A: Yes. Connection specifications and pipeline arrangements can be selected according to project requirements and the farm's existing water system.

Q: Is it suitable for complete commercial goat farm projects?
A: Yes. SHEWUYOU can configure drinking equipment together with livestock penning, feeding systems, water pipelines and other goat-house equipment according to the farm layout and project requirements.
