1. Position the mat on a clean, smooth and level floor at the designated biosecurity entry point.
2. Prepare the disinfectant solution strictly according to the chemical manufacturer's instructions.
3. Add sufficient solution to saturate the absorbent core without creating unnecessary standing liquid.
4. Remove excessive mud, manure and organic contamination from footwear before stepping onto the mat.
5. Inspect the surface, edges and bottom regularly for contamination, wear or leakage.
