Product Overview

The ISO Compliant RFID Cattle Tag Scanner is a portable livestock electronic identification reader designed for efficient scanning of compatible RFID cattle ear tags and animal transponders. It is suitable for digital cattle identification, herd inventory, livestock traceability and farm data collection.

Compatible configurations support the 134.2 kHz low-frequency RFID technology widely used for animal identification, including HDX and FDX-B transponders conforming to ISO 11784 / ISO 11785 requirements. The elongated stick-style structure allows operators to scan cattle tags from a practical working distance during animal handling.

Depending on the selected model, animal identification records can be stored locally and transferred to computers, mobile terminals, electronic livestock scales or herd-management systems through wired or wireless communication interfaces.

Key Features
  • ISO-Compatible Identification: Designed for electronic animal identification systems using ISO 11784 / ISO 11785 compatible transponders.
  • HDX and FDX-B Support: Compatible configurations can read the two major low-frequency RFID technologies used in livestock identification.
  • 134.2 kHz RFID Technology: Suitable for standard electronic cattle ear tags and compatible livestock transponders.
  • Stick-Style Reader: Extended reader construction allows convenient tag scanning around cattle chutes, yards and handling facilities.
  • Fast Identification: Electronic tag numbers can be captured without manually recording long identification codes.
  • Data Storage: Selected configurations can store large numbers of livestock identification records for later transfer.
  • Clear Operator Feedback: Display, audible signal, LED or vibration confirmation can be provided according to model.
  • Flexible Data Communication: USB, Bluetooth, serial or wireless interfaces are available according to configuration.
  • Rechargeable Design: Portable battery operation supports cattle identification away from fixed power supplies.
  • Farm-Ready Construction: Durable housing is designed for routine use in livestock production environments.

Working Principle

The RFID scanner generates a low-frequency electromagnetic field through its reading antenna. When a compatible cattle RFID ear tag enters the effective reading zone, the transponder communicates its encoded electronic identification number to the reader.

The scanner decodes the information and displays the animal ID. Depending on configuration, the reader can also store the identification number together with date, time or additional management information.

Collected data can then be transferred to compatible livestock management software, electronic weighing equipment, computers or mobile terminals for traceability, breeding, health, inventory and production management.
