Product Overview
The Low Pressure Cattle Drinking Bowl is a compact animal-activated watering unit designed for dairy cattle, beef cattle and other compatible livestock supplied from gravity-fed tanks, elevated reservoirs or reduced-pressure water systems.
The deep drinking bowl is manufactured from durable impact-resistant plastic and incorporates a smooth, retractable nose paddle. When fitted with a compatible low-pressure valve, the drinker provides dependable water delivery where conventional high-pressure farm water lines are unavailable or unnecessary.
Metal-reinforced mounting points, adjustable fixing slots and top or bottom water connections make the unit suitable for cattle barns, pasture systems, holding pens and livestock projects requiring flexible water-supply installation.

Working Principle
The drinker operates through an animal-activated nose paddle. When cattle press the paddle with the muzzle, the mechanical linkage opens the valve and allows water to enter the bowl.
With the appropriate low-pressure valve installed, the unit can operate from a gravity-fed tank or other compatible reduced-pressure water source. Water continues to enter while the animal activates the paddle.
When the paddle is released, the valve closes automatically. This on-demand principle limits unnecessary standing water while providing animals with fresh drinking water when required.

Installation & Maintenance
Mounting: Install the bowl securely on a strong wall, pipe or cattle pen structure using suitable fasteners and all required fixing points.
Installation Height: Select a practical mounting height according to cattle size so animals can operate the nose paddle comfortably.
Water Connection: Connect the G 1/2" supply from above or below according to the water-line arrangement.
Low-Pressure Setup: Install the compatible low-pressure valve when the unit is connected to a gravity-fed or reduced-pressure water source.
Valve Testing: Operate the nose paddle manually after installation to confirm smooth valve movement and sufficient water delivery.
Cleaning: Rinse the bowl routinely and remove feed residue, sediment and biological contamination.
Maintenance: Inspect the paddle, valve, brass connector, seals, mounting reinforcement and water-line fittings periodically.
|
Typical Project Configuration
In a pasture installation, the drinking bowl can be supplied from an elevated storage tank using gravity pressure. This configuration can provide a practical watering point without requiring a separate booster pump where sufficient water head is available.
For integrated livestock projects, SHEWUYOU can configure drinking bowls together with water tanks, pipelines, mounting brackets, protective guards, cattle pens and other livestock watering equipment according to project requirements.

Product FAQ
Q: What makes this a low-pressure cattle drinking bowl?
A: The bowl can be equipped with a dedicated low-pressure valve for use with gravity-fed or other compatible reduced-pressure water supplies.
Q: Can it be connected to an elevated water tank?
A: Yes. A compatible low-pressure configuration can be used with suitable gravity-fed water tanks or reservoirs.
Q: How does the animal obtain water?
A: The animal presses the nose paddle with its muzzle, opening the valve and allowing water to flow into the bowl.
Q: Is the bowl suitable for dairy cattle?
A: Yes. The deep bowl is designed to provide convenient water access for dairy and beef cattle.
Q: Can the water connection come from above or below?
A: Yes. The reference K71 design provides a G 1/2" connection with top or bottom connection options.
Q: Is the water flow adjustable?
A: Yes. The reference drinking bowl provides adjustable water flow, while actual performance depends on the installed valve and water pressure.
Q: Can the bowl be mounted on a pipe?
A: Yes. Pipe mounting is possible with compatible mounting brackets and stabilizing plates.
Q: Can protective guards be supplied?
A: Yes. Hot-dip galvanized guards and related mounting accessories are available according to project requirements.
