Enamelled Cast Iron Cattle Drinking Bowl |

 |
| Product Overview |
The Enamelled Cast Iron Cattle Drinking Bowl is a compact and durable livestock watering unit designed for cattle, calves and other compatible large animals. Its heavy cast-iron body provides excellent mechanical strength, while the enamelled surface creates a smooth drinking area that is convenient to clean and maintain.
A brass tube valve allows the animal to activate the water supply directly with its muzzle. The hollow tube guides incoming water toward the bottom of the bowl, helping provide a calm water flow with reduced splashing around the drinking point.
The drinking bowl is suitable for wall or post installation in dairy barns, beef cattle housing, calf areas and livestock handling facilities. Top and bottom water connections provide flexibility when integrating the bowl into new or existing farm water pipelines.

- Flow Regulation: Allows water quantity to be adjusted according to operating conditions.
- Water Connections: Top and bottom threaded connections provide flexible pipeline installation.
- Four-Hole Mounting Plate: Supports secure installation on walls or suitable posts.
|
| Working Principle |
The drinking bowl uses an animal-operated tube valve rather than a float mechanism. When cattle press or move the tube with the muzzle, the valve opens and allows fresh water to flow into the bowl.
The hollow tube guides the incoming water toward the bottom of the basin, producing a relatively calm water supply and reducing unnecessary splashing. Water delivery can be adjusted to suit the available farm water pressure.
When the animal releases the valve tube, the spring mechanism returns it to the closed position and stops water flow automatically.

Mounting: Secure the bowl to a structurally sound wall, steel post or livestock pen component using the four mounting points and suitable fasteners.
Installation Height: Select the mounting height according to the target animal group so cattle or calves can operate the valve comfortably.
Water Connection: Connect the 1/2" supply line from the top or bottom according to the farm pipeline layout.
Flow Adjustment: Adjust water delivery according to available pressure and livestock drinking requirements.
Pipe Protection: Water pipes should be protected from animal impact or chewing where they pass through accessible livestock areas.
Cleaning: Wash the enamelled bowl regularly to remove feed contamination, sediment and biological deposits.
Maintenance: Inspect the brass valve, seals, valve spring, threaded connections and mounting hardware periodically and replace worn components when required.
|
| Typical Project Configuration |
In commercial cattle housing, enamelled cast-iron drinking bowls can be installed along pen walls or on reinforced posts to create compact individual watering points. Protective guards can be added where cattle contact with pipelines or the bowl is likely to be heavy.
For integrated livestock projects, SHEWUYOU can configure drinking bowls together with water pipelines, circulation systems, mounting brackets, cattle pen equipment and steel structure farm buildings according to project requirements.
