Product Name Dual-Inlet Pig Water Level Valve
Product Image Dual-Inlet Pig Water Level Valve
Product Overview The Dual-Inlet Pig Water Level Valve is a diaphragm-operated control valve designed to maintain a consistent drinking-water level in livestock troughs. Its two alternative threaded inlet ports allow the water supply line to approach the valve from either a horizontal or vertical direction, simplifying installation in different pig pen layouts.

The non-electric operating principle provides a simple and dependable solution for commercial pig farms, farrowing houses, gestation units, weaner facilities and finishing barns. When correctly installed, the valve helps maintain continuous access to drinking water while reducing unnecessary overflow and daily manual water-level adjustment.
Key Features
  • Dual inlet configuration: two alternative female-threaded water connections support horizontal or vertical pipe installation.
  • Automatic level control: diaphragm-operated mechanism maintains a stable water level in the drinking trough.
  • Non-electric operation: works directly with the farm water supply without motors, sensors or electrical controls.
  • Reduced water waste: automatically stops water flow when the required trough level is reached.
  • Flexible installation: suitable for new pig house projects, renovation work and existing livestock water systems.
  • Service-friendly construction: the diaphragm and internal control components can be inspected or replaced during routine maintenance.
  • Commercial farm application: designed for continuous operation in demanding pig housing environments.
Structural Components
  • Sealed water-level valve housing
  • Flexible diaphragm regulating mechanism
  • Two alternative threaded water inlet ports
  • Plug for sealing the unused inlet
  • Internal valve control and sealing components
  • Outlet connection for vertical water pipe
  • Stainless steel downpipe available according to system configuration
  • Mounting brackets or installation kits according to project requirements
Working Principle The valve uses a flexible diaphragm to regulate incoming water. As pigs drink and the water level in the trough falls, the pressure balance acting on the diaphragm changes and the valve opens to replenish the trough.

When the predetermined water level is restored, the diaphragm closes the inlet and stops additional water flow. This cycle is repeated automatically without electrical power, helping provide a stable drinking environment throughout the production day.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Install the valve above the trough and outside the pigs' normal reach.
  • Select either the horizontal or vertical inlet and securely plug the unused port.
  • Use a prefilter upstream of the valve to reduce sediment entering the diaphragm mechanism.
  • Maintain the recommended water pressure and vertical pipe arrangement for stable operation.
  • Position the water discharge point away from the feed outlet whenever possible.
  • Flush and clean the water supply pipe regularly to maintain drinking-water hygiene.
  • Periodically inspect the diaphragm, seals and connections for wear, blockage or leakage.
Product FAQ

Q: Are both water inlets used at the same time?
A: Normally no. The two inlet ports provide alternative horizontal and vertical connection directions. The unused inlet is sealed with a plug.

Q: Does the valve require electricity?
A: No. The diaphragm-operated valve works directly from the water supply and does not require electrical power.

Q: What water pressure is recommended?
A: A water pressure of approximately 2.0-2.5 bar, or 29-36 PSI, is recommended for the referenced configuration.

Q: Is a water filter necessary?
A: A prefilter is recommended because it helps prevent sediment and impurities from affecting the diaphragm and valve sealing surfaces.

Q: Can the valve be integrated into different pig house designs?
A: Yes. Mounting position, pipe arrangement, brackets and trough integration can be configured according to project requirements.
