Product Overview

The Dual-Inlet Pig Water Level Valve is an automatic diaphragm-operated controller designed to maintain a stable water level in drinking troughs used for piglets, finishing pigs and sows.

Two 1/2-inch female-threaded inlets allow the water supply to approach from either a horizontal or vertical direction. The unused connection is closed with a plug, providing flexible installation in new pig houses and existing watering-system renovation projects.

Key Features
  • Dual Water Inlets: Two 1/2-inch female connections support horizontal or vertical water-supply layouts.
  • Automatic Water-Level Control: Maintains a consistent water level without manual refilling.
  • Diaphragm Operation: Simple pressure-responsive mechanism provides reliable automatic opening and closing.
  • Reduced Water Waste: Stops water supply automatically after the target trough level is restored.
  • Few Moving Parts: Simple construction supports dependable operation and convenient servicing.
  • Flexible Installation: Suitable for sow troughs, group-pen troughs and other compatible pig drinking systems.
  • Replaceable Diaphragm: Serviceable internal components simplify routine maintenance.
Structural Components
  • Valve Housing: Durable molded body protects the internal regulating mechanism.
  • Flexible Diaphragm: Responds to pressure changes created by the water level in the vertical pipe.
  • Dual 1/2-Inch Inlets: Provide alternative horizontal and vertical supply connections.
  • Inlet Plug: Seals the unused water connection.
  • Control Assembly: Regulates opening and closing of the water inlet.
  • Vertical Supply Pipe: Connects the controller to the trough and establishes the operating water column.
Working Principle / Structural Principle

The valve is installed above a vertical water pipe connected to the drinking trough. The water column creates pressure conditions that act on the flexible diaphragm inside the controller.

When pigs consume water and the trough level falls, the pressure condition changes and the valve opens. Fresh water enters until the preset water level is restored, after which the diaphragm closes the inlet automatically.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation:

  • Install the controller above the vertical water pipe connected to the trough.
  • Use either the horizontal or vertical inlet and seal the unused inlet with the supplied plug.
  • Maintain suitable water pressure; approximately 2.0-2.5 bar is recommended for the reference system.
  • Use a prefilter upstream of the valve to protect the diaphragm from sediment.
  • Position the water pipe away from feed outlets where practical to reduce contamination.
  • Flush the pipeline thoroughly before commissioning.

Maintenance:

  • Clean the supply pipe regularly to maintain water hygiene.
  • Inspect the valve for leakage or delayed shutoff.
  • Clean or replace the prefilter according to water quality.
  • Inspect the diaphragm periodically and replace it if damaged or hardened.
  • Flush the system after medication, maintenance or prolonged shutdown.
Product FAQ

Q1: Why does the valve have two water inlets?

The two 1/2-inch female-threaded inlets allow the water supply to connect horizontally or vertically, making installation easier for different pig-house layouts.

Q2: How does the valve maintain the water level?

A flexible diaphragm responds to changes in the water column. The valve opens when the trough level drops and closes when the required level is restored.

Q3: Does it require electricity?

No. The controller operates mechanically through water pressure and diaphragm movement.

Q4: What water pressure is recommended?

The reference system recommends approximately 2.0-2.5 bar or 29-36 psi.

Q5: Is a water filter recommended?

Yes. A prefilter helps protect the diaphragm and valve seat from sediment and improves long-term reliability.

Q6: Can the valve be used for different pig groups?

Yes. The reference design is used in watering systems for piglets, finishing pigs and sows.

Q7: What information is required for a quotation?

Please provide pig category, required quantity, trough type, water pressure, preferred inlet direction, pipe height, mounting structure and project location.
