The pressure difference between the evacuated tube and the atmosphere causes blood to flow automatically into the tube until the intended filling volume is reached. The clot activator inside the tube promotes coagulation. After collection, the sample is gently mixed according to the applicable instructions and then allowed to clot completely before centrifugation. After centrifugation, serum is separated from the cellular fraction and can be used for appropriate veterinary diagnostic testing.
