Product Overview Veterinary Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes are designed for efficient collection, handling and preparation of animal blood samples for veterinary diagnosis, laboratory testing and livestock health monitoring.

The evacuated tube system uses preset negative pressure to draw blood directly from a compatible collection needle into the tube. Available configurations include clot activator tubes, anticoagulant tubes and plain no-additive tubes, with 1 mL, 2 mL, 5 mL and 10 mL capacity options.

Key Features
  • Vacuum Blood Collection: Preset negative pressure draws blood directly into the tube when used with a compatible veterinary collection system.
  • Multiple Tube Types: Available as clot activator, anticoagulant and no-additive configurations for different laboratory requirements.
  • Multiple Capacities: 1 mL, 2 mL, 5 mL and 10 mL options meet different animal sampling volumes.
  • Controlled Sample Handling: Closed vacuum collection helps reduce unnecessary transfer of blood between containers.
  • Anticoagulant Options: Corresponding tubes contain anticoagulant formulations designed to reduce clot formation and platelet aggregation.
  • Clear Tube Body: Allows convenient observation of blood volume and sample condition.
  • Color-Coded Identification: Different closure colors can be supplied according to tube type and additive configuration.
  • Veterinary Applications: Suitable for livestock farms, veterinary clinics, diagnostic laboratories and animal health monitoring programs.
Working Principle A compatible veterinary blood collection needle is inserted into the selected vein. When the evacuated tube is connected to the collection system, the preset negative pressure inside the tube draws blood into the container until the designed collection volume is reached.

Depending on the tube configuration, the collected blood either remains untreated, contacts a clot activator to prepare a serum sample, or mixes with an anticoagulant to maintain a whole-blood or plasma sample for subsequent laboratory testing.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Select the correct tube type according to the required laboratory test.
  • Check the tube, closure and vacuum integrity before blood collection.
  • Use with a compatible veterinary blood collection needle and holder.
  • Allow the vacuum system to draw the required blood volume without manually opening the tube.
  • For additive tubes, mix the specimen according to the applicable laboratory protocol after collection.
  • Do not transfer additives between different tube types.
  • Label each specimen clearly after collection.
  • Store and transport collected specimens according to the requirements of the intended laboratory test.
  • Do not use tubes with damaged closures, visible contamination or loss of vacuum.
  • Dispose of used tubes and blood-contaminated materials according to local veterinary biosecurity and laboratory waste requirements.
Product FAQ

What capacities are available?
The current product range includes 1 mL, 2 mL, 5 mL and 10 mL vacuum blood collection tubes.

What tube types are available?
Available configurations include clot activator tubes, anticoagulant tubes and plain no-additive tubes.

What is an anticoagulant tube used for?
An anticoagulant tube is designed to reduce blood clotting so that whole blood or plasma can be prepared for applicable veterinary laboratory tests.

What is a clot activator tube used for?
A clot activator tube promotes controlled clot formation and is typically selected when a serum specimen is required.

What is a no-additive tube?
A no-additive tube does not contain an anticoagulant or clot activator and is selected according to the required laboratory procedure.

Which anticoagulants are available?
Common industry options include EDTA, heparin and sodium citrate. The exact additive and concentration should be confirmed according to the required test before ordering.

Are cap colors standardized?
Color-coded caps are commonly used to identify different additives, but the exact color system should be confirmed for the ordered product and target market.

Which animals can the tubes be used for?
They are suitable for cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and other animals when the collection volume and tube type match the veterinary testing protocol.

What information is required for a quotation?
Please provide the required tube type, additive, capacity, quantity, target animal species, laboratory application and packaging requirements.
