| Product Overview |
The 2-Way Sheep Sorting Gate is a professional livestock handling component designed to direct individual goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep from a race into either of two separate collection pens. It provides a simple and efficient solution for flock drafting, classification and routine animal management. Installed at the discharge end of a sheep handling race, the gate allows the operator to select the required exit direction using a manual control mechanism. Sheep can therefore be separated according to weight, age, sex, breeding group, health status, treatment requirement or other farm management criteria. The galvanized steel structure provides durability for repeated use in commercial livestock environments. Smooth gate movement and a compact operating footprint make the unit suitable for permanent sheep yards, portable handling systems and agricultural contractor applications. The sorting gate can be integrated with sheeted races, guillotine gates, weighing crates, EID equipment and modular sheep panels to create a complete livestock handling system according to project requirements. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
Sheep move through the handling race toward the sorting gate in single file. The operator positions the drafting gate to open one exit route while closing the alternative route. When the animal passes through the selected opening, it enters the corresponding collection pen. The operator then changes the gate position for the next animal when a different sorting category is required. This simple mechanical process allows continuous drafting without repeatedly catching or manually moving individual sheep, improving labour efficiency and reducing unnecessary animal handling. |

| Installation & Maintenance |
The sorting gate is normally installed at the discharge end of a sheep race where two dispersal pens are positioned on either side of the drafting point. The gate should be aligned with the race to provide an unobstructed livestock pathway. Connection lugs and pins allow the unit to integrate with compatible sheep hurdles and race panels. For permanent installations, additional fixing or support components can be provided according to the site layout. Before operation, check that both gate panels move freely and that locking or stop mechanisms engage correctly. The operating handle should remain within convenient reach of the handler without obstructing livestock flow. Regular maintenance should include cleaning manure and debris from hinges, pivots and lower guides. Connection pins, welds and galvanized surfaces should be inspected periodically for wear or mechanical damage. |

| Project Cases |
A typical two-way drafting installation consists of a forcing pen, single-file sheep race and sorting gate positioned between two exit pens. Animals move through the race one at a time and are directed into the required group by the operator. For larger commercial sheep farms, the sorting gate can be positioned after weighing or EID equipment so individual animals can be classified immediately after identification, weighing or inspection. |
