| Product Overview |
The Sheep RFID Rumen Bolus Applicator is a manual livestock identification tool designed for controlled oral administration of compatible electronic rumen boluses to goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep and goats. These RFID boluses remain in the reticulorumen and provide tamper-resistant electronic identification for long-term animal traceability. OS ID offers dedicated C20 and C20/C65 bolus applicators for rumen RFID pellets, while compatible commercial applicators use a stainless steel delivery tube and trigger-operated mechanism for precise bolus release. The applicator itself contains no RFID electronics; its function is to position and release the electronic bolus safely. The tool is suitable for commercial sheep farms, breeding operations, livestock identification programs, veterinary handling areas and agricultural projects requiring integration with electronic animal identification and flock-management systems. |

| Working Principle / Structural Principle |
A compatible RFID rumen bolus is loaded into the applicator head. The sheep or goat is restrained appropriately and the delivery tube is introduced carefully through the mouth according to the bolus manufacturer's administration instructions. After correct positioning, the operator pulls the trigger. The push rod advances through the delivery tube and releases the bolus so the animal can swallow it into the gastrointestinal tract. Once retained in the rumen, the electronic bolus can be read using a compatible RFID reader. The applicator has no reading function and should not be confused with an EID scanner. Important: Only the applicator specified for the selected bolus size should be used. Bolus dimensions, animal eligibility and minimum liveweight must follow the electronic bolus manufacturer's instructions. |
