| Working Principle |
Laying hens are housed in individual cage compartments with direct access to the front feeding trough and drinking system. Feed can be supplied manually or by automatic feeding equipment, while nipple drinkers provide a controlled water supply.
After an egg is laid, the inclined wire-mesh floor allows it to roll gently toward the front egg collection area. Eggs can then be collected manually or transferred by an automatic egg belt and conveyor system. Manure falls through the cage floor and can be removed manually, by scraper equipment or through an automatic manure belt system depending on the farm configuration. |
