Pneumatic 3-Way Automatic Cattle Drafter |
| Product Image |
 |
| Product Overview |
The Pneumatic 3-Way Automatic Cattle Drafter is a heavy-duty sorting module designed to direct cattle into three separate exit lanes after a cattle crush, weigh box or livestock processing station.
Air-operated drafting gates reduce repetitive manual gate handling and can be integrated with compatible livestock weighing and management systems. When connected to a suitable auto-drafting controller, cattle can be directed according to predefined management criteria such as live weight or electronic identification data.
The galvanized frame, sheeted lower gate sections and personnel access gates make the module suitable for commercial beef farms, dairy operations, feedlots, livestock markets and cattle-yard engineering projects. |
| Key Features |
- Pneumatic 3-way cattle drafting for efficient livestock sorting.
- Air-operated gates reduce manual handling during repetitive processing.
- Suitable for operation with a relatively compact compressed-air supply.
- Compatible with selected Gallagher and Tru-Test livestock weighing systems.
- Can support automatic drafting when connected to compatible drafting-capable controls.
- Slam-shut personnel access gates fitted on both sides.
- Sheeted lower gate sections improve animal containment and reduce leg exposure.
- Heavy 65 × 65 mm SHS reference main frame.
- All-galvanized reference construction for demanding cattle-yard environments.
- Open head-working area provides unrestricted access ahead of the crush.
- Designed for installation in front of a cattle crush or weigh box.
- Modular expansion can create higher-capacity 7-way or 9-way drafting layouts.
|
| Structural Components |
- Heavy Main Frame: Reinforced galvanized steel structure supporting the complete drafting mechanism.
- Pneumatic Draft Gates: Powered gates direct animals to the left, center or right exit lane.
- Air Cylinders: Provide controlled gate movement when supplied with compressed air.
- Gate Control System: Coordinates gate opening and closing according to operator or compatible automatic drafting commands.
- Sheeted Lower Panels: Close the lower section of the gates to improve livestock containment.
- Personnel Gates: Slam-shut gates on both sides provide convenient handler access.
- Head Access Area: Open working space ahead of the crush allows unrestricted access to the animal's head.
- Concrete Mounting Points: Allow the module to be securely bolted to a suitable slab.
|
| Working Principle |
The drafting module is normally installed immediately ahead of a cattle crush or weigh box. After an animal has been restrained, treated, identified or weighed, the required exit route is selected.
Compressed air actuates the appropriate drafting gates, creating a clear path toward the left, center or right exit lane. In manual-assisted operation, the handler selects the required route through the control system.
When connected to a compatible automatic drafting scale or livestock-management controller, the gate command can be generated from predetermined criteria such as animal weight or EID records.
Once the animal exits, the gates return to the required ready position for the next handling cycle. |
