| Product Overview | The Short Bevel Sheep Shearing Comb is a professional cutting component developed for goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep with open wool and favorable shearing conditions. A short bevel allows the comb teeth to enter suitable fleece efficiently while maintaining good control over the cutting path. The reference professional configuration uses a 3 mm bevel and a wide working profile. Its slender tooth geometry and slim rider teeth are designed to promote smoother entry through the fleece and support efficient wool flow during continuous shearing. The comb is installed on a compatible sheep shearing handpiece and operates together with a reciprocating cutter. It is suitable for professional shearers, commercial sheep farms, wool production operations, breeding farms and livestock equipment distributors. |

| Working Principle | The comb is secured to the front of a compatible sheep shearing handpiece. During operation, the cutter moves rapidly from side to side over the flat working surface of the comb. As the shearer moves the handpiece through the fleece, the comb teeth separate and lift wool fibers into the cutting area. The reciprocating cutter then shears the fibers against the comb surface. Short-bevel geometry is particularly suited to sheep with open wool and good shearing conditions. Correct cutter position, blade tension, lubrication and sharpening condition are essential for efficient operation and animal safety. |

| Installation & Maintenance | Disconnect the shearing machine from its power source before installing or adjusting the comb. Position the comb squarely on the handpiece and tighten the retaining screws evenly. The cutter should be positioned correctly behind the bevel according to the handpiece manufacturer's setup instructions. Incorrect lead or excessive blade tension may increase heat, drag and wear. Apply suitable shearing oil regularly during operation. After use, remove wool fibers and dirt from the comb, dry the steel surfaces and apply a light protective oil before storage. When cutting efficiency declines, the comb should be professionally reground using suitable sheep shearing comb grinding equipment. |

| Product FAQ | Q: What type of wool is a short-bevel comb designed for? A: A short-bevel comb is principally suited to open wool and favorable shearing conditions. Q: What is the typical bevel length? A: Professional short-bevel sheep combs commonly use a bevel of approximately 3 mm. Q: Why is comb width important? A: A wider comb can cover more fleece during each pass, while correct operator technique and fleece condition remain important for safe and efficient shearing. Q: Can this comb be sharpened? A: Yes. Professional sheep shearing combs are designed to be reground when the working surface becomes dull. Q: Does the comb require a cutter? A: Yes. The comb and reciprocating cutter work together as the cutting assembly of the shearing handpiece. Q: Can matching cutters be supplied? A: Yes. Compatible cutters and complete comb-and-cutter sets are available upon request. Q: Can different widths or bevels be supplied? A: Yes. Short-, medium- and long-bevel configurations and different working widths can be selected according to wool type and project requirements. |
