Product Overview The Livestock Manure Anaerobic Digester System is designed to process collected animal manure and suitable farm effluent in a sealed, oxygen-free environment. It can be configured as part of a commercial pig farm, dairy farm or integrated livestock wastewater treatment project. The system brings together feedstock preparation, a digester vessel, mixing and temperature control, biogas collection, and digestate discharge. Final process design depends on the manure characteristics, daily loading and intended use of the biogas and digestate.
Key Features
  • Sealed digestion and gas collection support controlled manure treatment and biogas recovery.
  • Tank material, protective finish and sealing details can be selected for the feedstock and site conditions.
  • Modular tank construction is available where transport access and on-site assembly favor prefabricated components.
  • Mixing, heating and insulation can be specified to support stable operation in the local climate.
  • Inlet and outlet connections can be coordinated with barn manure channels, pump stations, separators and downstream treatment equipment.
Structural Components A project configuration may include a manure reception or equalization tank, transfer pumps, pretreatment equipment, a sealed digester tank, roof or gas holder, agitators, heating and insulation, gas piping and conditioning, instrumentation, and a digestate outlet. Platforms, access points, pipe supports and connections to adjacent steel structure buildings are detailed according to the plant layout. Equipment scope is confirmed during project engineering.
Working Principle Collected manure is screened, diluted or homogenized as required, then fed into the sealed digester. Anaerobic microorganisms break down biodegradable organic matter, producing biogas and a remaining digestate stream. Mixing helps distribute feedstock and reduce settling or floating layers. Collected biogas can be conditioned for a suitable energy application, while digestate is directed to storage, further separation or downstream treatment according to the project plan.
Technical Specifications
  • Feedstock: Pig manure, cattle manure and other suitable livestock organic streams; subject to feedstock assessment.
  • Digester configuration: According to project requirements.
  • Tank material and dimensions: Customizable after process and structural design.
  • Daily treatment capacity and retention time: Determined from feedstock testing and the required process duty.
  • Mixing, heating, insulation and gas handling: Available upon request.
  • Foundation and environmental loading: Designed according to local climate, ground conditions and applicable project requirements.
Applications Commercial pig farms, dairy and cattle operations, livestock breeding groups, centralized manure treatment facilities, and agricultural biogas projects. The digester can be integrated into a wider wastewater treatment train; downstream treatment requirements depend on the intended discharge or reuse route.
Customization Options The tank arrangement, feed and discharge points, mixing equipment, insulation, gas storage interface, monitoring points and digestate handling connections can be configured for the farm. Share the animal population, daily manure and wash-water volumes, available site area, local climate and desired gas application to support equipment selection.
Installation & Maintenance Installation begins with a suitable engineered foundation and coordinated positions for tanks, pumps, access routes and service piping. Where specified, prefabricated tank components are assembled on site before connections, sealing checks and commissioning. Routine operation calls for inspection of seals, mixers, pumps, gas lines and instrumentation, together with monitoring of feed rate and digester conditions. Service access and maintenance procedures should be included in the final plant design.
Product FAQ

Can the system handle pig manure?
Yes. The process configuration should reflect its solids content, collection method, wash-water volume and any planned co-substrates.

Is pretreatment required?
Screening, grit removal, homogenization or solid-liquid separation may be specified after the feedstock and pumping route are assessed.

Can digestate be discharged directly?
Digestion alone does not establish that an effluent meets a local discharge standard. Storage, nutrient use or further wastewater treatment must be planned for the project location.
