Product Name Containerized Livestock Wastewater MBR System
Product Image containerized membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment system
Product Overview The Containerized Livestock Wastewater MBR System packages biological treatment and membrane filtration into a compact, transportable plant. It is intended for livestock effluent that has received suitable upstream screening and solids removal. For commercial pig farms, the treatment train can be integrated with manure separation, equalization and existing wastewater infrastructure. The final configuration depends on influent testing, daily and peak flow, site conditions, and the required effluent quality.
Key Features
  • Combines activated-sludge treatment with membrane separation in a compact equipment layout.
  • Retains biological solids in the treatment process while producing low-solids permeate.
  • Containerized construction supports factory assembly, transport and connection at the farm site.
  • Enclosed equipment protects pumps, blowers, membranes and controls from outdoor exposure.
  • Modular units can be planned for phased livestock farm expansion.
Structural Components The proposed package may contain biological treatment compartments, a submerged membrane zone, membrane modules and support frames, air blowers and diffusers, permeate pumps or gravity outlets according to membrane design, valves, pipework, instrumentation and a control cabinet. Membrane air scouring and cleaning provisions are included as required by the selected module. Coarse screening, solid-liquid separation, equalization, anaerobic pretreatment and final effluent storage may be separate upstream or downstream facilities.
Working Principle Pretreated wastewater enters the biological section, where microorganisms reduce biodegradable organic matter. Anoxic and aerobic zones may be incorporated when nitrogen removal is part of the process design. Mixed liquor then passes through the membrane zone. The membranes separate treated water from suspended biomass, allowing the biomass to remain in the system. Air scouring, scheduled cleaning and controlled sludge removal help maintain operation. Additional disinfection or polishing is specified when required for the intended reuse or discharge route.
Technical Specifications
  • Treatment capacity: According to project requirements and measured average and peak flows.
  • Design influent: Pretreated livestock wastewater; allowable loading is determined from water quality analysis.
  • Membrane configuration: Submerged membrane type and area available upon request.
  • Container size, materials and power supply: Customizable according to equipment selection and site requirements.
  • Effluent target: Established from applicable local reuse or discharge requirements; performance is confirmed through project design and commissioning.
Applications Suitable for pig farms, dairy farms and other livestock facilities requiring a compact biological treatment stage after appropriate manure solids removal. It can also support upgrades where available land for a conventional treatment plant is limited.
Customization Options The process can be adapted to the farm's manure collection method, wastewater strength, treatment capacity and available footprint. Options include upstream pretreatment, anoxic zones, membrane selection, standby equipment, remote monitoring, insulation, ventilation and provisions for future modules. The enclosure and installation arrangement can be designed according to local climate and farm conditions.
Installation & Maintenance Place the unit on an engineered foundation with access for lifting, operator entry and maintenance. Connect the pretreated wastewater inlet, effluent outlet, sludge line and electrical supply according to the approved site drawings. Coordinate pipe elevations and cable routes with the pig house drainage network and any adjacent steel structure building. Commissioning includes biological startup, membrane integrity and flow checks, and adjustment to actual wastewater conditions. Operators should inspect screens and blowers, monitor membrane performance, manage waste sludge and clean membranes according to the selected manufacturer's procedures.
Product FAQ

Can raw pig slurry enter the MBR directly?
No. Manure solids and debris require suitable pretreatment to protect the biological process and membranes.

Does an MBR eliminate all other treatment equipment?
No. Collection, screening, equalization and, for high-strength wastewater, additional pretreatment may be necessary.

Can treated water be reused?
Potential reuse depends on tested effluent quality, any additional treatment and the applicable local requirements.
