Product Name Cow Estrus Detection System
Product Image cow estrus detection system smart neck and ear sensors
Product Overview

The Cow Estrus Detection System is an intelligent livestock monitoring solution designed to identify behavioral changes associated with estrus and provide timely breeding alerts for dairy and beef cattle operations.

Wearable neck or ear sensors continuously collect activity and behavioral data from individual animals. The monitoring platform analyzes these data patterns and generates heat alerts, helping farm managers identify cows requiring insemination without relying solely on manual visual observation.

The system is suitable for commercial dairy farms, cattle breeding centers, livestock genetics programs and integrated farm projects. Data can be accessed through computers, tablets or smartphones, allowing reproduction teams to manage breeding decisions more efficiently across large herds.

Key Features
  • 24/7 Estrus Monitoring: Continuously tracks animal activity and behavioral patterns associated with heat.
  • Automatic Heat Alerts: Identifies cows with elevated reproductive activity and generates timely notifications.
  • Breeding-Time Guidance: Supports selection of an appropriate insemination window based on individual heat patterns.
  • Individual Cow Monitoring: Records data for each tagged animal rather than relying only on herd-level observation.
  • Neck or Ear Sensor Options: Wearable sensor configurations can be selected according to herd management requirements.
  • Remote Data Access: Monitoring information can be viewed from compatible computers, tablets and smartphones.
  • Reduced Manual Observation: Automated monitoring helps lower the labor required for repeated visual heat checks.
  • Reproductive Management Support: Helps identify irregular cycling, missed heats and animals requiring further attention.
  • Scalable System Architecture: Suitable for small breeding units as well as large commercial dairy operations.
  • Farm Management Integration: Integration with compatible herd management, identification and sorting systems is available according to project requirements.
Structural Components
  • Wearable neck tag or ear sensor
  • Animal activity sensing module
  • Wireless data communication module
  • Farm receiver or communication gateway
  • Central data processing platform
  • Web-based or mobile management interface
  • Individual animal identification database
  • Heat alert and notification module
  • Optional RFID identification function
  • Optional cow locating and sorting integration
Working Principle

Each cow is fitted with a wearable monitoring sensor. The device continuously records changes in movement and other relevant behavior throughout the day and night.

Collected data are transmitted through the farm communication network to the management platform. The software compares the animal's current behavior with its normal activity pattern and evaluates changes associated with estrus.

When a cow shows a heat-related activity pattern, the system creates an alert and displays the animal in the reproduction worklist. Depending on the selected configuration, the platform can also provide information about heat intensity, heat stage or recommended insemination timing.

The system is intended to support herd reproduction management and should be used together with farm breeding protocols, animal records and professional veterinary or AI management practices.

  • Confirm data transmission before placing the full system into operation.
  • Train farm staff to review heat alerts, worklists and breeding information.
  • Inspect straps, ear attachments and sensor positioning during routine herd handling.
  • Keep gateways, power supplies and network equipment protected from moisture and physical damage.
  • Maintain accurate breeding, insemination and pregnancy records in the herd management platform.
  • Periodically check system communication and software synchronization.
Product FAQ

Q1: How does a cow estrus detection system detect heat?

Wearable sensors monitor changes in activity and behavior. The system analyzes individual animal patterns and generates an alert when the data indicate likely estrus.

Q2: Does the system operate continuously?

Yes. Professional cow monitoring systems are designed for continuous 24/7 monitoring so heat-related behavioral changes can be detected outside normal staff observation periods.

Q3: Can farmers view alerts on a smartphone?

Yes. Compatible system configurations can provide reproduction alerts and herd information through smartphones, tablets and computers.

Q4: Can the system indicate when to inseminate?

Yes. Depending on software configuration, the system can evaluate the heat pattern and provide breeding-time guidance to support artificial insemination management.

Q5: Is it suitable for large commercial dairy farms?

Yes. The system architecture can be scaled according to herd size, barn layout and management requirements.

Q6: Can heat detection be integrated with automatic cow sorting?

Yes. Compatible systems can exchange animal information with sorting equipment so cows requiring insemination or inspection can be separated automatically.

Q7: Can SHEWUYOU customize the system for a new dairy barn project?

Yes. Sensor quantity, wireless coverage, gateway layout, software functions and integration with livestock equipment can be configured according to project requirements.
