Product Overview The Stationary Compost Trommel Screen is a fixed rotary screening unit for grading cured livestock manure compost and other organic materials. Working Principle Cured compost enters the rotating drum from the feed end. Rotation lifts and turns the material, allowing particles smaller than the selected openings to pass through the screen into a collection hopper or conveyor. Larger pieces continue to the oversize outlet. Feed rate, drum configuration, and screen opening are selected together to suit the compost's moisture, particle size, and required separation.

Installation & Maintenance Position the unit on an engineered foundation or support structure with clear access to the feed end, discharge points, drive, and drum. Coordinate the layout with upstream and downstream conveyors, power supply, guarding, and dust management. Routine maintenance includes checking screen openings for blockage, removing wrapped material, inspecting wear parts and supports, and servicing the drive according to the supplied equipment manual.

Can it screen fresh manure?
The unit is primarily intended for material with suitable screening characteristics. Wet or sticky manure may blind the openings; feedstock condition should be evaluated before equipment selection.

Selection depends on the target compost grade, feedstock particle distribution, moisture, and the intended use of the oversize fraction.

Can it be added to an existing composting line?
