Product Overview

The Compact Farm Compost Aeration System is a configurable aerated static pile (ASP) solution for processing livestock manure and other suitable organic materials on a limited site footprint. A blower moves air through a pipe or floor distribution network beneath the composting material, supporting aerobic activity during the active composting stage. The layout can be integrated into a concrete compost pad, bunker arrangement or covered manure handling area according to project requirements.

For commercial pig farms, the system can form part of a wider manure management facility alongside solids separation, feedstock mixing, runoff collection and compost curing areas. System sizing depends on manure volume, feedstock characteristics, site conditions and the required operating schedule.

Key Features
  • Compact pile or bunker layout suited to farms with constrained working space.
  • Forced aeration supports oxygen supply without routine turning during the active static pile stage.
  • Modular air distribution can be arranged in separate zones for phased loading and future expansion.
  • Timer-based or temperature-informed blower control options are available according to project requirements.
  • Optional biolayer cover and negative aeration with biofiltration can be considered where odor management is a priority.
  • Accessible pipework and service points simplify inspection and routine maintenance.
Structural Components
  • Electric aeration blower with a suitably sized motor and weather-protected installation position.
  • Main air manifold, branch connections and perforated distribution pipes or engineered aeration floor.
  • Valves or dampers where individual pile zones require airflow adjustment.
  • Electrical control cabinet, operating timer and optional temperature probes or monitoring equipment.
  • Compost pad, optional bunker walls, drainage provisions and optional roof or steel structure enclosure supplied or specified to suit the overall farm project.
Working Principle

Manure is mixed with suitable bulking material to create a porous composting feedstock, then placed over the aeration network. In a positive aeration layout, the blower pushes air through the distribution pipes and upward through the pile. The control system operates the blower according to the selected schedule or monitoring strategy. Where negative aeration is specified, air is drawn through the pile and directed toward the designed exhaust treatment system. Operators monitor pile temperature and moisture, manage drainage, and move material to curing when the active stage is complete.

Technical Specifications
  • System capacity: Customizable according to feedstock volume and operating plan.
  • Aeration configuration: Positive or negative aeration according to project requirements.
  • Number of zones: Customizable.
  • Blower capacity and electrical supply: Available upon request after engineering assessment.
  • Pipe and floor arrangement: Above-grade pipes, recessed pipes or trench-style distribution according to site design.
  • Structural materials and corrosion protection: Specified according to the operating environment and project requirements.
  • Pad, drainage and roof design: Designed according to local climate and farm conditions.
Applications

Suitable for on-farm composting projects handling pig manure solids, cattle manure, poultry litter and other compatible agricultural organic materials. Typical locations include pig farm manure treatment areas, livestock farm compost pads and small agricultural waste processing facilities. Feedstock preparation and environmental controls should be designed for the specific material mix and local requirements.

Customization Options

Pile dimensions, zone quantity, blower selection, aeration floor, controls, bunker walls, drainage and odor treatment can be configured for the farm layout. For new pig farm construction, the composting area can be coordinated with the steel structure building, vehicle access, manure transfer route and wastewater management plan.

Installation & Maintenance

Installation typically involves preparing the compost pad and drainage, positioning the blower and control cabinet, connecting the manifold and distribution network, and commissioning each aeration zone. The exact sequence depends on the selected floor and building arrangement. Routine maintenance includes checking blower operation, clearing accessible pipe openings, inspecting electrical connections and drainage, and verifying temperature monitoring equipment where fitted.

Product FAQ

Can the system process pig manure?
Yes. The feedstock mix must be prepared with adequate structure and moisture conditions for airflow through the pile.

Does aeration eliminate all turning?
The pile normally remains static during its active aerated stage. Mixing before loading and handling during curing may still be required.

Can the installation be expanded later?
Additional zones may be planned where the pad layout, manifold, blower capacity and electrical design allow for expansion.
