Product Name Membrane-Covered Manure Composting System
Product Image
membrane-covered manure composting system with aerated compost bay
Product Overview This system combines a semi-permeable membrane cover with a forced-aeration network to compost separated pig manure and other livestock solids in covered static piles. It is designed for commercial farms, manure treatment centers and agricultural projects that need a controlled composting area. The layout can be coordinated with a concrete composting pad, drainage works, vehicle access and an existing or proposed steel structure building.
Key Features
  • A semi-permeable cover shields the pile from rainfall while allowing water vapor to escape and helping contain odors and dust.
  • Controlled air supply supports aerobic conditions without routine turning during the covered active phase.
  • Temperature and oxygen monitoring can guide blower operation and help operators track the composting process.
  • Modular pile positions allow capacity to expand according to project requirements.
  • Covered bays can be planned for outdoor pads or integrated with a farm waste handling building.
Structural Components Typical components include a composting membrane, perimeter fastening or weighting, an aeration blower, under-pile air ducts or channels, temperature and oxygen probes, and an electrical control cabinet. The civil works may include a reinforced concrete pad, collection drainage and retaining walls where required. Cover handling equipment and a steel structure canopy are available as project options.
Working Principle Manure solids are blended with suitable bulking material to form an air-permeable pile over the aeration network. After the membrane is secured, the blower supplies air beneath the pile. Aerobic microorganisms break down the organic material and generate heat; monitoring data helps operators adjust aeration. The cover is removed for unloading, curing or the next processing step after the planned active phase. Feedstock preparation and process duration depend on the material and site conditions.
Technical Specifications
  • Feedstock: Separated pig manure, cattle manure, poultry manure and other suitable organic materials.
  • System layout and processing capacity: Customizable.
  • Membrane dimensions and pile configuration: According to project requirements.
  • Blower, duct and control configuration: Designed according to feedstock properties and site conditions.
  • Electrical supply and detailed equipment specifications: Available upon request.
Applications Suitable for commercial pig farms, integrated livestock operations, centralized manure processing facilities and organic fertilizer projects. For pig farm construction, the system can be located downstream of solid-liquid separation and coordinated with manure collection routes, wastewater management and the farm's biosecurity plan.
Customization Options Pile length, number of composting positions, membrane handling method, aeration layout, monitoring points and controls can be configured for the required throughput. Pad drainage, retaining walls, equipment access and optional steel structure shelter can be designed according to local climate and farm conditions.
Installation & Maintenance Installation typically includes preparing the pad and drainage, placing the aeration network, connecting the blower and control cabinet, and fitting the monitoring probes and membrane fasteners. Routine checks should cover membrane seams and anchors, blocked air outlets, blower operation, probe condition and drainage. The cover should be handled and stored carefully to reduce wear.
Product FAQ

Can the system process pig manure directly?
Separated pig manure normally needs to be blended with a suitable bulking material to improve pile structure and airflow. The mix should be determined from the actual feedstock.

Does the pile need turning?
Forced aeration reduces the need for routine turning during the covered active phase. Material preparation and any later turning or curing steps depend on the operating plan.

Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes. An outdoor installation requires a suitable pad, drainage design and membrane fastening method for local weather conditions.
