The Ceramic Infrared Brooder Heater is an electric radiant heating element designed to provide localized warmth for chicks, poults, ducklings and other young livestock. Unlike conventional illuminated heat lamps, the ceramic emitter converts electrical energy into infrared heat without producing visible light. The ceramic body incorporates a resistance heating element and transfers long-wave infrared energy toward birds, bedding and surrounding surfaces. | Working Principle |
Electrical current passes through the resistance element embedded within the ceramic body. The electrical resistance generates heat, which is transferred through the ceramic material to the emitter surface. The heated ceramic surface releases primarily long-wave infrared radiation. Birds, litter, flooring and other surfaces within the radiation field absorb this energy and convert it into sensible heat. Because the emitter does not depend on visible light for heat production, the poultry-house lighting schedule can be managed separately from the brooding temperature program. Heating intensity at bird level is influenced by emitter wattage, mounting height, ambient temperature, reflector configuration and the distance between the heater and the brooding zone. |
