Wheelchair Platform Scale with Handrails

Product Showcase Content
Product Name WHEELCHAIR PLATFORM SCALE
Product Image 500 kg Wheelchair Platform Scale with Handrails
Product Overview The 500 kg Wheelchair Platform Scale is designed for convenient weighing of wheelchair users without requiring transfer to a conventional standing scale. Its wide platform, anti-slip deck, side handrails and ramped access provide a practical weighing solution for hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities and other care environments.

The standard internal weighing area is approximately 800 × 800 mm. A high-precision load-cell system provides stable electronic weighing, while single- or dual-ramp configurations can be selected according to the installation layout and wheelchair traffic direction.

Key Features
  • 500 kg Capacity: Heavy-duty weighing capacity accommodates wheelchairs and users within the rated system load.
  • 800 × 800 mm Internal Platform: Provides a spacious weighing area for many standard wheelchair configurations.
  • Low-Entry Ramp Access: Optional single-side or dual-side ramps allow wheelchairs to roll onto and off the weighing platform more easily.
  • Anti-Slip Deck: Patterned platform surface improves wheel traction during entry, weighing and exit.
  • Side Handrails: Protective rails on both sides provide additional guidance and support around the weighing area.
  • Raised Edge Protection: Elevated side edges help reduce the risk of wheelchair wheels rolling off the platform.
  • High-Precision Load Cells: Electronic sensors provide stable and repeatable weight measurement.
  • Durable Surface Treatment: The scale body is shot-blasted and powder-coated for improved resistance to corrosion, rust and scratching.
  • Customizable Configuration: Platform dimensions, ramp arrangement and weighing indicator can be selected according to project requirements.
Working Principle The wheelchair is rolled completely onto the weighing platform through the access ramp. Load cells beneath the platform detect the combined load of the wheelchair and user and convert the applied force into an electrical signal.

The digital weighing indicator processes the signal and displays the measured weight. When the selected indicator provides tare functionality, the known empty wheelchair weight can be deducted so that the user's body weight can be determined.

For consistent weighing performance, the complete wheelchair and all wheels should remain fully supported by the weighing platform during measurement.

  • Apply the tare function only when the selected indicator supports it and the wheelchair tare weight is correctly established.
  • Keep the anti-slip platform clean and free from water, dirt and objects that may interfere with wheelchair access.
  • Inspect ramps, handrails, raised edges, welds and load-cell connections periodically.
  • Protect the indicator and electrical components from direct high-pressure washing unless the selected equipment is specifically rated for such cleaning.
  • Check calibration periodically according to the facility's weighing and quality-control requirements.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the maximum weighing capacity?
A: The standard wheelchair scale has a rated capacity of 500 kg.

Q: What is the standard platform size?
