Product Showcase Content
Product Name SHEAR BEAM WEIGHING MODULE
Product Image Shear Beam Weighing Module
Product Overview The Shear Beam Weighing Module is an integrated weighing assembly designed to convert hoppers, mixing tanks, reactors, silos and other process vessels into electronic weighing systems.

The module combines a high-precision shear beam load cell, load-transfer components and mounting plates in one structure. This integrated design simplifies installation, improves load transmission and helps reduce weighing errors caused by improper sensor mounting.
Product Gallery Shear beam load cell, upper loading plate, lower mounting plate, load-transfer mechanism, structural mounting hardware and signal cable connection for tank and hopper weighing systems.
Key Features
  • Integrated Weighing Structure: Combines the load cell, load-transfer components and mounting plates into one installation-ready module.
  • Shear Beam Load Cell: Provides high weighing accuracy, good repeatability and long-term stability for process weighing applications.
  • Reduced Installation Error: Integrated mechanical loading components help minimize weighing errors caused by incorrect load-cell installation.
  • Easy Vessel Conversion: Allows existing hoppers, tanks, reactors and other supported structures to be converted into weighing systems.
  • Multiple Installation Arrangements: Modules can be configured around different vessel support layouts and structural requirements.
  • Industrial Process Integration: Suitable for weighing, batching, filling, inventory monitoring and production-control systems.
  • Harsh-Environment Applications: Suitable configurations can be selected according to humidity, corrosion, vibration and operating conditions.
  • C8 Controller Option: Can be integrated with a compatible C8 weighing controller for automated weighing and process-control applications.
  • Automatic Control Functions: Compatible control systems can support batching, sorting, setpoint control, upper/lower limit alarms and peak hold.
  • Project-Based Selection: Capacity, module quantity, material, load-cell configuration and control system can be selected according to the vessel and process requirements.
Working Principle Weighing modules are installed beneath the supporting legs or structural support points of a hopper, tank, reactor or other vessel. The vessel weight and material load are transferred vertically through the loading plates to the shear beam load cells.

Each load cell converts mechanical deformation into an electrical signal proportional to the applied load. Signals from multiple weighing modules are combined and transmitted to a weighing indicator or process controller, which calculates and displays the total vessel weight.

When connected to an industrial weighing controller, the weight signal can also be used to control feeders, valves, pumps or other equipment according to preset process parameters.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Select module capacity according to the vessel dead weight, maximum material load, module quantity and required safety margin.
  • Ensure all vessel support points and mounting foundations are rigid, level and capable of carrying the maximum design load.
  • Install each weighing module so that the primary load is transferred vertically through the intended loading point.
  • Avoid excessive lateral forces, twisting loads or mechanical interference from surrounding structures.
  • Use flexible pipe, hose or cable connections where possible to reduce external forces acting on the weighing vessel.
  • Ensure piping does not support part of the vessel weight or restrict normal weighing movement.
  • Connect multiple load cells through a compatible junction box before connection to the weighing indicator or controller.
  • Protect load-cell cables from rodents, sharp edges, excessive heat, chemicals and mechanical damage.
  • Complete zero calibration and span calibration after mechanical installation is finished.
  • Inspect mounting bolts, load-transfer components, cables and vessel supports periodically.
  • Recalibrate the weighing system after structural modification, module replacement or major maintenance.
Product FAQ

Q: What is a weighing module?
A: A weighing module integrates a load cell with load-transfer and mounting components so that tanks, hoppers and other structures can be converted into electronic weighing systems.

Q: What type of load cell is used?
A: This product uses a shear beam load-cell structure designed for accurate and stable industrial weighing.

Q: What weighing capacity is available?
A: Capacity should be selected according to vessel dead weight, maximum material load, number of support points and required safety margin.

Q: How many weighing modules are required for one tank?
A: The quantity depends on the number and arrangement of vessel support points and the mechanical design of the weighing system.

Q: Can it be used with feed hoppers?
A: Yes. It is suitable for feed hoppers, batching bins, mixing tanks and other livestock-feed processing equipment.

Q: Can it be connected to an automatic batching system?
A: Yes. The weighing signal can be connected to a compatible process controller such as a C8 controller for batching and setpoint-control applications.

Q: Why are flexible pipe connections recommended?
A: Flexible connections help reduce external pipe forces that can affect the accuracy and repeatability of vessel weighing.

Q: Can the module configuration be customized?
A: Yes. Capacity, module quantity, material, mounting arrangement and control system can be selected according to the vessel and project requirements.
