Structural Components

A typical system comprises a supporting frame, non-slip weigh crate floor, load cells, entry gate, four-way drafting gate assembly, scale indicator mount and control equipment. Lead-up race panels, receiving pen gates, EID reader and protective covers can be incorporated according to project requirements.

Working Principle

Sheep enter the weigh crate individually from the lead-up race. Once the animal is positioned and a stable weight is captured, the operator or configured control system selects a destination. The exit and drafting gates then guide the animal into the assigned route. Where compatible EID equipment is specified, identification records may also be used in the sorting rules.
