Product Overview The Sheep Ear Tag Applicator is a professional manual identification tool designed for installing compatible visual and electronic ear tags on goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep and goats. Its plier-type structure provides controlled leverage, helping operators position and lock two-piece ear tags efficiently during routine flock identification work.

The applicator is suitable for commercial sheep farms, breeding operations, livestock markets, veterinary teams, agricultural projects and animal identification programs. Different pins, inserts and jaw configurations can be supplied to match selected ear tag systems.
Key Features
  • Designed for quick and controlled application of sheep and goat identification ear tags.
  • Long ergonomic handles provide practical leverage during repeated tagging operations.
  • Spring-assisted opening supports faster preparation between individual animals.
  • Replaceable applicator pin allows maintenance and adaptation to compatible tag systems.
  • Stable jaw structure helps keep male and female tag components correctly aligned during application.
  • Durable metal or reinforced applicator body is suitable for repeated livestock farm use.
  • Compact manual operation requires no electricity, compressed air or permanent installation.
  • Suitable for visual identification tags and selected electronic identification systems when fitted with compatible inserts.
Structural Components
  • Applicator Body: Provides the main structural support and mechanical leverage required for ear tag installation.
  • Applicator Pin: Holds the male ear tag component in position before installation.
  • Tag Retaining Jaw: Supports the female tag component and keeps both parts aligned.
  • Pivot Joint: Transfers handle movement to the applicator jaws.
  • Return Spring: Automatically reopens the handles after each application on suitable configurations.
  • Ergonomic Handles: Provide secure grip and leverage during repetitive flock identification work.
  • Interchangeable Inserts: Available for compatible ear tag formats according to project requirements.
Working Principle The male ear tag component is fitted onto the applicator pin and the corresponding female component is positioned in the retaining jaw. The applicator is then placed at the selected identification point on the animal's ear.

When the handles are compressed, the applicator drives the male component through the ear tissue and locks it into the female component. The handles are then released and the applicator is removed, leaving the identification tag securely installed.

Correct tag location, hygiene and animal restraint should follow local livestock identification requirements and accepted animal handling practices.
