Visual Sheep Identification Ear Tag

Product Name Visual Sheep Identification Ear Tag
Product Image Visual Sheep Identification Ear Tag
Product Overview The Visual Sheep Identification Ear Tag is designed for permanent or long-term visual identification of goat-farming-equipment/" target="_blank" class="keylink">sheep and goats in commercial livestock operations. It provides a clear marking surface for individual animal numbers, flock codes, management information and other farm identification data.

The two-part tag structure combines a male pin section with a female receiving section to provide secure attachment through the ear. Compact sheep-specific formats help maintain good visibility while minimizing unnecessary weight on the ear, making the system suitable for flock identification, breeding records, health management, sorting and traceability programs.
Key Features
  • Designed specifically for visual identification of sheep, lambs and goats.
  • High-contrast marking area supports fast reading during flock inspection and livestock handling.
  • Two-part locking structure provides reliable retention during normal grazing, housing and handling conditions.
  • Flexible livestock-grade polymer construction helps reduce cracking and deformation during farm use.
  • Suitable for laser marking, sequential numbering, barcodes or customized farm identification layouts according to configuration.
  • Multiple tag colors can support visual grouping by flock, age, breeding line or management category.
  • Compact design reduces unnecessary loading on sheep and goat ears.
  • Compatible applicator systems are available for fast, repeatable installation.
  • Suitable for commercial livestock farms, breeding programs, dealers and large agricultural projects.
Structural Components
  • Male Tag Part: Includes the identification panel and piercing pin used during application.
  • Female Tag Part: Receives and locks the male pin to complete the ear tag assembly.
  • Identification Panel: Provides the visible surface for numbers, letters, barcodes or management information.
  • Locking Mechanism: Helps maintain tag retention after application.
  • Piercing Tip: Designed to pass through the ear tissue when used with the correct applicator.
  • Flexible Polymer Body: Supports outdoor use under typical livestock housing and pasture conditions.
Working Principle The male and female tag parts are loaded into a compatible ear tag applicator. The tag is positioned at the recommended area of the sheep or goat ear, avoiding major blood vessels and unsuitable tissue locations.

When the applicator handles are closed, the male pin passes through the ear and locks into the female component. The resulting assembly remains attached to the animal while the visible tag surface allows rapid identification during routine management, weighing, vaccination, breeding, sorting and flock inventory operations.
