Mobile Pig Pen Scale for Livestock Weighing

Product Showcase Content
Product Name MOBILE PIG PEN SCALE
Product Image Mobile Pig Pen Scale for Livestock Weighing
Product Overview The Mobile Pig Pen Scale combines a heavy-duty weighing platform, livestock enclosure and retractable wheel system in one integrated unit. It is designed for commercial pig farms and livestock facilities that need to move one weighing system between different barns, pens or handling areas.

With a rated capacity of 3 tons, customizable platform dimensions and reinforced powder-coated steel construction, the scale can be used for individual or group pig weighing. Hand-crank lifting wheels allow the scale to be raised for transport and lowered onto its weighing supports during operation.

Key Features
  • 3-Ton Capacity: Heavy-duty weighing structure supports commercial pig and livestock weighing applications within the rated load.
  • Mobile Pen Design: The enclosure and weighing platform form one movable unit for flexible use in different farm areas.
  • Hand-Crank Wheel System: Mechanical lifting assemblies raise the scale onto its wheels for movement and lower it into weighing position when required.
  • Four-Wheel Mobility: Two directional wheels and two swivel wheels provide convenient positioning and steering.
  • Animal Anti-Motion Indicator: The weighing indicator helps stabilize fluctuating readings caused by livestock movement.
  • Reinforced Underframe: U-shaped structural beams and additional reinforcement improve platform rigidity under heavy loads.
  • Protective Surface Treatment: Scale body and enclosure are shot-blasted and powder-coated for improved corrosion, rust and scratch resistance.
  • Rodent-Resistant Design: Protected weighing components and signal cable help reduce rodent-related damage in livestock buildings.
  • Customizable Dimensions: Standard sizes are available and the enclosure can be manufactured according to project requirements.
Working Principle Before weighing, the hand-crank wheel assemblies are lowered or retracted as required so the weighing structure is positioned securely on a firm and level surface. Pigs are guided into the enclosed platform and the gate is closed.

Load cells beneath the weighing platform convert the applied animal weight into electrical signals. The digital livestock indicator processes these signals and stabilizes the reading despite normal animal movement.

After weighing, the pigs leave the enclosure. When the scale needs to be transferred to another location, the operator uses the hand-crank mechanism to place the unit onto its wheels for movement.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Operate the scale on a firm, flat and level surface to maintain stable weighing performance.
  • Lower the scale completely into its weighing position before allowing animals to enter.
  • Do not perform weighing while the scale load is supported by the transport wheels.
  • Zero the weighing indicator before each weighing session.
  • Guide animals calmly into the enclosure and close the gate securely before recording weight.
  • Remove manure, feed, mud and other debris from the platform regularly.
  • Inspect hand cranks, wheel assemblies, gates, hinges and structural welds periodically.
  • Check signal cables and load-cell connections for physical or rodent damage.
  • Protect the weighing indicator and electrical connections from direct high-pressure washing.
  • Calibrate the scale periodically according to farm measurement requirements.
  • Never exceed the rated 3-ton capacity.
Product FAQ

Q: What is the maximum weighing capacity?
A: The standard mobile livestock pen scale is rated for a maximum load of 3 tons.

Q: What sizes are available?
A: Standard configurations are approximately 1.5 × 2 × 0.9 m and 2 × 3 × 0.9 m. Customized dimensions are also available.

Q: How is the complete scale moved?
A: Hand-crank lifting mechanisms raise the scale onto four wheels. Two fixed wheels provide directional support and two swivel wheels assist steering.

Q: Can pigs be weighed while the wheels are supporting the scale?
A: The scale should be lowered into its stable weighing position before measurement so the weighing system is correctly supported.

Q: Is the indicator suitable for moving animals?
A: Yes. The livestock indicator includes an anti-motion function to help stabilize readings caused by normal animal movement.

Q: Is the scale designed for livestock farm environments?
A: Yes. The powder-coated steel structure, reinforced frame and rodent-resistant cable design are intended for routine livestock-farm use.

Q: Is an anti-slip floor option available?
A: Yes. An anti-slip mesh can be supplied as an optional configuration.

Q: What is the main advantage compared with a fixed livestock scale?
A: The mobile design allows one weighing unit to serve multiple barns, pens or livestock handling areas, reducing the need to install a separate fixed scale at every location.
