Product Overview

The Rectangular Chick Starter Feed Tray is designed to increase feed availability during the first days after chick placement. Its shallow, open structure allows newly hatched chicks to locate and reach starter feed easily, helping support early feed intake and uniform flock development.

The tray can be manually filled or positioned below chick-drop outlets on automatic poultry feeding lines. Durable molded plastic construction allows repeated washing, sanitizing and reuse between flocks, making it suitable for commercial broiler, layer and breeder rearing operations.

Key Features
  • Easy Chick Access: Low-profile sides allow day-old chicks to reach starter feed with minimal obstruction.
  • Large Open Feeding Area: Rectangular design provides convenient access from multiple sides and supports group feeding.
  • Suitable for Chick Drops: Can be positioned beneath feed-line chick-drop outlets or filled manually.
  • Reinforced Tray Structure: Ribbed or formed base sections improve rigidity and help limit excessive flexing during handling.
  • Reduced Feed Loss: Raised perimeter edges help retain starter feed while keeping access easy for young chicks.
  • Washable and Reusable: Smooth plastic construction supports cleaning, sanitizing and reuse for successive flocks.
  • Lightweight Handling: Easy to distribute, collect, stack and store during poultry house turnaround.
Structural Components
  • Rectangular Tray Body: Wide feeding surface designed for starter feed presentation.
  • Low Side Walls: Help retain feed while maintaining convenient access for young chicks.
  • Reinforced Base: Molded ribbing or formed sections improve tray stiffness and dimensional stability.
  • Rounded Corners: Simplify handling and routine washing.
  • Stackable Profile: Allows compact transport and storage between poultry production cycles.
Working Principle

Starter feed is spread evenly across the shallow tray either manually or through a chick-drop system connected to the poultry feed line. The low tray height allows newly placed chicks to identify and consume feed quickly.

As chicks become established on the permanent automatic feeding system, supplemental trays can be gradually removed according to the farm's brooding and flock-management program.

Installation & Maintenance

Distribute starter trays evenly throughout the brooding area so newly placed chicks can locate feed without excessive travel. Where chick-drop outlets are used, position trays directly beneath the designated feed-drop points according to the poultry feeding system layout.

After the starter-feeding period, remove residual feed and litter, wash and sanitize the trays, allow them to dry completely, and stack them in a clean storage area for the next flock. Inspect trays regularly for cracks or excessive deformation.

Product FAQ

Q: When is a chick starter feed tray normally used?
A: It is mainly used during the first days after chick placement to provide additional, highly visible feed access before birds become fully established on the permanent feeding system.

Q: Can the tray be used with an automatic feeding line?
A: Yes. It can be positioned beneath suitable chick-drop outlets or used as a manually filled supplemental feeder.

Q: Can the trays be reused?
A: Yes. Durable plastic trays can be washed, sanitized, dried and stored for reuse with subsequent flocks.

Q: Why is the tray shallow?
A: The low-profile design makes starter feed easier for young chicks to see and reach while still helping retain feed inside the tray.

Q: Can SHEWUYOU customize tray size and color?
A: Yes. Dimensions, material specification, color and packaging can be customized according to project and procurement requirements.
