Product Overview

The Heavy-Duty Single-Animal Cattle Pen Scale combines a weighing platform with an enclosed pen to weigh cattle individually during routine handling. It can be incorporated into cattle alleys, collection yards and other livestock equipment layouts where operators need to guide an animal onto the scale, close the gates and record its weight.

The platform size, gate arrangement, structural finish and weighing electronics can be specified according to the project. The same structural approach may be adapted for other livestock, including pigs, when the enclosure dimensions and handling workflow are suitable.

Structural Components

A typical assembly comprises a steel base frame, weighing deck, side panels, entry and exit gates, load cells, junction and signal cabling, and a digital indicator. The final scope of supply is confirmed in the project quotation.

Working Principle

An animal enters the pen and stands on the platform while the gates control its movement. Load cells beneath the platform convert the applied load into an electrical signal for the indicator. Where specified, an animal-weighing function processes readings taken while the animal moves to display a usable weight. The animal then exits in the planned handling direction.

Installation & Maintenance

Install the scale on a firm, level base with adequate clearance for gates and animal movement. Position the frame so its weighing supports bear evenly, protect signal cables from traffic and washdown, and complete setup and calibration according to the selected indicator and load-cell instructions. Keep the deck and gates clear of accumulated material; inspect hinges, fasteners, cables and weighing supports during routine maintenance.
