Pig House Positive Pressure Air Filtration System

Product Showcase Content
Product Name PIG HOUSE POSITIVE PRESSURE AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM
Product Image Pig House Positive Pressure Air Filtration System
Product Overview The Pig House Positive Pressure Air Filtration System is a biosecurity ventilation solution designed to filter incoming fresh air before it enters breeding, farrowing and other high-value pig facilities.

The modular system combines pre-filtration and higher-efficiency filtration with positive-pressure fans and indoor air-distribution ducts. It can be integrated into new pig houses or adapted to existing ventilation systems for farm renovation projects.
Product Gallery Modular outdoor filter cabinet, primary filter modules, secondary high-efficiency filter modules, protective intake screen, positive-pressure supply fan and indoor precision air-distribution duct system.
Key Features
  • Multi-Stage Air Filtration: Pre-filters and higher-efficiency filters work together to reduce dust, aerosols and airborne contaminants entering the pig house.
  • Positive Pressure Ventilation: Filtered air is mechanically supplied to maintain controlled positive pressure inside the livestock building.
  • Reduced Unfiltered Air Infiltration: Positive indoor pressure helps direct leakage airflow outward through building gaps.
  • Modular Filter Cabinet: Modular construction simplifies outdoor installation, inspection and filter replacement.
  • Precision Air Distribution: Indoor ventilation ducts distribute filtered fresh air more evenly throughout the pig house.
  • Suitable for Renovation Projects: Can be integrated with existing ventilation systems where project conditions permit.
  • Biosecurity-Oriented Design: Helps reduce exposure to airborne particles and pathogen-carrying aerosols as part of a comprehensive farm biosecurity program.
  • Expandable Configuration: Filter area, fan capacity and duct layout can be designed according to building size and required ventilation rate.
  • Optional Environmental Control: Fans and ventilation stages can be integrated with compatible livestock-house climate controllers.
Working Principle Outdoor air first passes through a primary filter that removes larger dust and particulate matter. The air then passes through a secondary higher-efficiency filter stage for finer filtration.

A positive-pressure fan pushes the filtered air into the pig house through dedicated ventilation ducts. The air is distributed through properly positioned outlets to provide controlled fresh-air supply throughout the building.

When the supplied airflow maintains indoor pressure slightly above outdoor pressure, uncontrolled leakage tends to move outward rather than allowing unfiltered outdoor air to enter through cracks and construction gaps.

Installation & Maintenance
  • Calculate total supply airflow according to pig numbers, building volume and seasonal ventilation requirements.
  • Size the filter bank according to required airflow and acceptable pressure drop.
  • Install filter modules with airtight seals to prevent bypass of unfiltered air.
  • Position outdoor modules to reduce direct exposure to rain, snow and contaminated runoff.
  • Design indoor duct outlets to achieve uniform fresh-air distribution without direct drafts onto pigs.
  • Check filters regularly for dust loading, damage, moisture and abnormal pressure resistance.
  • Clean protective intake screens and drainage openings periodically.
  • Replace pre-filters and main filters according to pressure-drop readings, environmental conditions and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Inspect door seals, cabinet joints, ducts and building openings for unwanted air leakage.
  • Monitor fan operation and indoor pressure to verify that the designed positive-pressure condition is maintained.
  • Do not damage or touch sensitive filter media during handling and replacement.
Product FAQ

Q: What is positive pressure air filtration?
A: Filtered outdoor air is mechanically supplied into the pig house at a rate that maintains indoor pressure slightly above outdoor pressure, helping reduce uncontrolled entry of unfiltered air.

Q: What filtration stages are used?
A: The system combines primary and higher-efficiency filtration. A typical project may use G4 and F9 stages, while final filter grades depend on the required biosecurity design.

Q: Does an air filtration system replace other biosecurity measures?
A: No. Air filtration should be used together with personnel, vehicle, animal, feed, sanitation and other farm biosecurity procedures.

Q: Can the system be installed on an existing pig farm?
A: Yes. The modular design is suitable for many renovation projects when the existing building, fan capacity and ventilation layout are compatible.

Q: How is filtered air distributed inside the pig house?
A: A positive-pressure fan supplies filtered air through dedicated ventilation ducts and properly positioned outlets.

Q: How often should the filters be replaced?
A: Replacement depends on dust loading, pressure drop, operating hours, filter class and local environmental conditions. Differential pressure and manufacturer recommendations should be used to determine the correct replacement time.

Q: Can airflow and filtration capacity be customized?
A: Yes. Filter area, fan capacity, cabinet size and duct layout can be engineered according to the required ventilation rate and pig-house dimensions.

Q: Which pig farms benefit most from positive-pressure filtration?
A: It is especially relevant to high-biosecurity breeding farms, nucleus herds, boar facilities and other operations where reducing airborne disease exposure is a major design objective.
