7. Plan Manure and Waste Management
The manure system should be planned according to animal numbers, water use, local climate, storage capacity, treatment method, and environmental regulations.

Before animals enter the farm, test the feeding, drinking, ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, drainage, alarm, and backup power systems.

9. Reserve Expansion Capacity
Farm roads, utilities, feed storage, water supply, electrical capacity, and waste treatment facilities should allow for reasonable future expansion.
