| Working Principle | Veterinary ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves transmitted from the probe into animal tissue. Different tissues and fluid interfaces reflect part of the ultrasound energy back to the probe. The scanner processes these reflected signals and converts them into real-time images on the display. During reproductive examination, the operator uses the image characteristics of the uterus, fluid structures, fetus and surrounding tissues to support veterinary assessment. Ultrasound gel should be used to provide effective acoustic coupling between the probe and the animal. Image interpretation should be performed by trained veterinary or livestock reproductive personnel. |
