Key Features
  • 35–43°C Measuring Range: Suitable for routine body temperature monitoring of many livestock and animal species.
  • Clear Graduated Scale: Medical-style markings allow direct visual temperature reading.
  • Mercury-in-Glass Principle: Uses thermal expansion of mercury rather than electronic sensing.
  • No Battery Required: Operates without batteries, charging or electrical power.
  • Compact 11.5 cm Length: Convenient for veterinary kits and routine farm health checks.
  • Traditional Design: Simple structure with no electronic display or internal circuitry.
  • Bulk Packaging: Supplied in a 10-piece small-box configuration.
Working Principle The thermometer contains mercury inside a sealed glass capillary tube. When the sensing end is exposed to body temperature, the mercury expands and rises through the narrow capillary.

The final mercury-column position is read against the graduated scale to determine temperature. Before the next measurement, the mercury column must be returned below the expected measurement range according to the normal operating procedure for a clinical glass thermometer.

Product FAQ

What is the measuring range?
The current product specification is 35–43°C.

How long is the thermometer?
The current product length is approximately 11.5 cm.

Does the thermometer require a battery?
No. It operates through the thermal expansion of mercury and requires no electrical power.

How is the temperature displayed?
The mercury column rises inside the glass capillary and the temperature is read directly from the graduated scale.

How many thermometers are packed in one box?
The current specification is 10 pieces per small box.

Can the thermometer be reused?
Yes, provided the glass thermometer remains intact and is properly cleaned and disinfected between animals.

What should be done if a mercury thermometer breaks?
Keep animals and personnel away from the affected area, ventilate the location and follow the applicable mercury spill and hazardous-waste procedure. Do not use a vacuum cleaner or broom to collect spilled mercury.

Can mercury thermometers be sold in every country?
No. Regulations on mercury-containing thermometers vary by country and market. Import, sale, transport and disposal requirements should be confirmed before ordering.
