Product Overview

The Long-Handle Pig Snare Restraint Pole is a manual livestock handling tool designed for short-term restraint of pigs during veterinary examination, treatment, vaccination, identification, sampling and other controlled farm procedures.

The tool combines a rigid metal pole with a flexible steel cable loop. Iron-pipe and stainless-steel versions are available, together with different pole and cable lengths to meet various livestock handling requirements. Its simple mechanical structure requires no electricity, batteries or compressed air.

Product Gallery Product views show the rigid metal restraint pole, flexible steel cable loop, manual operating handle and long-reach configuration. Different versions are available with iron-pipe or stainless-steel construction and different combinations of pole and cable length.
Key Features
  • Heavy-Duty Metal Construction: Available with iron-pipe or stainless-steel pole options for different farm requirements.
  • Flexible Steel Cable Loop: The loop can be positioned around the upper jaw for controlled short-term restraint.
  • Two Length Configurations: Available with different pole and cable combinations for different working distances.
  • Manual Operation: Requires no electricity, battery, charger or pneumatic system.
  • Long-Reach Control: The rigid pole helps the operator maintain control while keeping practical working distance from the animal.
  • Simple Mechanical Structure: Straightforward construction supports convenient operation, cleaning and routine maintenance.
  • Reusable Farm Tool: Designed for repeated use in commercial livestock handling environments.
  • Multiple Restraint Applications: Suitable for pigs and other appropriate animals when operated by trained personnel.
Working Principle

The steel cable forms an adjustable restraint loop at the end of the rigid pole. For pig restraint, a trained operator carefully guides the loop into the mouth and over the upper jaw and snout, then positions it correctly before applying controlled tension.

Once restrained, the rigid pole allows the handler to maintain control while another trained person performs the required procedure. The snare should be released smoothly as soon as restraint is no longer necessary. It is intended for restraint only and should not be used to drag or pull the pig from one location to another.
