According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service, U.S. pork production in 2026 is forecast at just under 28 billion pounds, approximately 1.4 percent higher than in 2025.
USDA also forecasts U.S. pork exports at approximately 7.2 billion pounds in 2026, about 3.8 percent above 2025 levels, although the forecast was reduced because of weaker shipments to Mexico.
At the same time, global pig meat prices have faced downward pressure in some markets.
FAO reported that international pig meat quotations declined amid relatively ample European Union supplies and weak demand from several Asian markets.
For pig producers, this combination of growing production and competitive pricing makes production efficiency increasingly important.
Modern farms are therefore investing more attention in reducing:
- Feed waste
- Water waste
- Labor requirements
- Animal mortality
- Disease risk
- Cleaning time
- Energy consumption
This is also changing demand for pig farming equipment.
Automatic feeding and drinking systems, efficient housing equipment, environmental control, pig weighing systems, biosecurity products and practical handling equipment can all contribute to more standardized farm operations.
For livestock equipment distributors, developing markets may offer particularly strong opportunities.
Countries with growing commercial pig production increasingly require equipment upgrades as farms move from small-scale production toward larger standardized operations.
SHEWUYOU will continue to monitor global pork production, livestock investment and farm modernization trends to support distributors, agricultural companies and farm customers with suitable livestock equipment.
For international buyers, the key purchasing trend is becoming clear: equipment is no longer evaluated only by purchase price. Reliability, labor savings, maintenance costs and long-term operating efficiency are becoming equally important.
